Ava Anderson

"Are you okay?" Marco asked pulling me into a hug as I opened the door for him. We walked further into the living room where Zoe was asleep on the couch.

"Ava, talk to me I'm worried" Marco sat on the couch beside me and wiped off the tear that had managed to slip out. I thought I was going to stop crying once I got home like whenever a patients die but this one hit me.

And it hit hard.

"I lost a patient" I managed to say in between my already cracked voice.

"I'm sorry"

"She was so young and had a life ahead of her. If she had lived longer maybe she would have played that football, maybe she would have told her mother how much she love her, maybe-" I cold no longer take it and I broke into another round of tears.

Marco pulled me closer rubbing my arm "Shhh, it wasn't your fault, everyone is assigned to die at one point of their life and maybe it is better as she is gone now"

"She saw her death coming Marco and she told me. I wish I had monitored her room closed and maybe stopped that man-"

"What man?" He pulled away examining my face. I told him how I bumped into this strange man wearing an hoodie with the tattoo on his wrist and about the same tattoo on Laura's wrist.

"I don't even know what to tell, the police, the cctv footage was not found when that incidence happened and there was no trace that could lead back to her killer" I said

"I promise that I will get to the root of all this" Marco said as he wiped my tears with his handkerchief.

"How are you going to do that?"

Lorenzo Romano

Marco entered my office with a wine in hand. It was 4am in the morning and his eyes were bloodshot, seems like he did not sleep throughout the night.

"That thing is not worth looking over" He said while placing two glasses on my table. I poured myself, for some but kept it beside me.

"The fingerprint is fake, we checked of it belonged to the man but no, it belongs to a woman who died five years ago" I pulled out the picture of the woman.

"She was someone that was living in a small town but what I can't get is why her fingerprint were used" I said looking at the picture again, it was blurred preventing me from seeing her real face.

I rubbed my fore head in an attempt to ease the headache that was already forming as a result of lack of sleep.

"Well, whosoever planned this did it well. Who do you suspect?" He asked, bringing his voice low even though no one was listening to us.

"The Rossi, Our father, everyone in italy is a suspect " I said.

He chuckled, sipping his wine "Our father is not smart enough to do such thing. The Rossi family probably don't know they have a daughter so I guess the next suspect should never another mafia that is big here in italy"

"We own seventy percent of the mafia in Italy so I don't think there is anyone-"

"Then it is an insider" He said watching me.

"No one knows about Ava and the arranged marriage except for Dante"

"He is not the one" He said.

I stood up dragging the chair backward, I stumbled before holding the chair.

"Whosoever did this might have been focusing on Ava only, maybe in a twisted way the person knows about Ava real father and wants to use it to hurt her" Marco said.
