Monday morning ; 09.00 hours

"Samantha, the CEO is calling for you. I know you're his secretary but hell, you work in a different office and just talk through email. Is something wrong?" Jennie frowned as she looked at you with worry lingering in her eyes.

"Not that I know of..." your voice turned into a whisper as you stood up from your office chair and went to the elevator.

Nervous is an understatement since you're literally shaking.

'What if he fires me?' You haven't made any mistakes but you were very anxious.

Carter Ethan a.k.a. The CEO is known for his ruthless personality when he's in a working environment.

He would scold an employee for just dropping files or just for being late for a minute.

"What are you doing on this floor? Mr. Carter forbids anyone to enter the premises" Lana scowled.

She was one of the executive's secretaries but she always speaks and talks down to the rest like she has the highest position in the company.

So you just ignored her, leaving her glaring at you from a far since she didn't want to risk getting fired from a high paying job.

You knocked on the door, and slowly opened it, seeing him signing some papers

"Miss Bowen?" He asked, still not looking up from the paper works.

"You called me Mr. Carter?" He then looked up and took your appearance in.

You shifted uncomfortably in his gaze.

"Mr. Carter, if you're not gonna say anything, I'll be glad to return back to my cabin and continue my work" you said.

You knew that you shouldn't have said that but you did and now, you're afraid of the consequences. But you were surprised when he chuckled.

"Miss Samantha, I see you getting bold and more open on your words" you gulped as he stood up and walked towards you til your nose touched with his.

"I like that" he grinned mischievously as he took a step back seeing your flushed face.

"But anyway, you're here because you'll have your office on the new renovated room beside this so go pack and transfer your things"

"But sir, I already have a cabin and–" you were cut off when he raised his eyebrow and spoke

"What's your position again, Miss Bowen?" He asked.

"Y-your secretary sir" you replied.

"Therefore, you should be near me, always," he said.

You have a lot of questions in mind but you decided that it wasn't a good idea to speak too much or you'll work yourself on getting fired for being annoying.

"Y-yes sir, of course. I'll go pack now" you bowed and scurried out of his office.

You knew that you shouldn't be nervous ever since the day you met his kids and got to experience his playful persona but you couldn't help but keep guard after he left with that expression.

"Did he fire you? Oh my god" Jennie and Mona walked towards you. You shook your head

"I'm just transferring my stuff to my new office beside his. Mr. Carter said that I needed to be near him since I'm his secretary" you continued to put your stuff in a box.

"On his floor?!" You nodded. "Damn, did you recite a ritual last night? And your own office? A dream!" Mona squealed.

"Lunch at ten, do you wanna go out or?" Jennie was cut off when you heard a little voice

"Sammie!" You giggled as your felt arms wrapped around your legs.

You were shocked along with the others but your jaw drop turned into a smile as you kneeled down "my babies" you wrapped your arms around them both as you kissed their foreheads.

You heard a cough and you looked up and saw Leo "sorry Miss Samantha, we were just passing by and they saw you" he said.

"Girl, who are those kids? Are they yours?"
