Chapitre 8

"I'm their father so I have rights!" Damien raised his voice.

"That's not what Eloise' last will and statement said. Accept it Damien. You aren't part of the kids' life, and never will be" Damien stood there shocked since he didn't know Eloise had a last resort.

"I just want to spend time with Ethan. Is that so wrong?" Ethan scoffed.

"We both know why you want to. You want them so you would have connections at Eloise' company and money. Well, guess what? I'm not letting you do that" Ethan said.

"The only reason why you were dating Eloise in the first place was because she's rich. Tried telling her that but she wouldn't believe me since she's so blinded by love" he muttered the last sentence, making it inaudible for Damien.

"Leo, who's that?" The four of you waited inside the car for Ethan.

"It's not my place to explain Samantha" you just sighed and nodded as you wrapped your arms around the two kids who were sitting on each side of you.

"Mama, is daddy alright? Are we in danger?" Ella asked and yawned.

You looked at both of them and saw their droopy eyes.

Kissing both of their foreheads, you sighed "no darling, we're safe and sound. Daddy's gonna be back soon okay?" They nodded as they slowly drifted off to sleep while leaning on you.

Soon, you felt yourself doze off too.

After a few minutes, Ethan came back and opened the back seat. To his surprise, the three of you were asleep peacefully.

His eyes softened as he reached in to kiss Aiden and Ella on their foreheads. He then kissed you on your temple before closing the backseat.

"Saw that you sly boy" Leo chuckled as he started the car. Ethan just rolled his eyes as he looked at the rearview mirror seeing your sleeping figure

'Oh how I want to see that pretty face every time I wake up from my slumber' he thought as he looked back in front.

You woke up from the small bump and you squinted your eyes seeing the car moving.

Ethan heard a little shuffle at the back and looked back

"Hey beautiful" you gave him a soft smile. He reached his hand out to you and you softly held it and caressed his knuckles, making him let out a relieved sigh.

"You okay hun?" Your choice of name surprised you, making you pull away from his hand but he grabbed it and turned to his side and kissed it

"I'm alright" he replied with a smile, making you smile back at him.

"Oh Leo, we're dropping the kids off to mom's since she misses them" Leo nodded.

A few minutes later, the kids woke up and Ethan told them that they're going to go to their grandma's house.

They just sat there excitedly, making you adults chuckle at their cuteness.

Once they've been dropped along with Leo, since he's their bodyguard too, all of you bid your goodbyes.

"Ethan, you have a meeting in an hour" "reschedule it" he replied.

"But why?" You asked.

"We're going to one of my friend's art exhibits" you nodded and rescheduled the meeting.

Once both of you reached the building and walked inside, you gaped. 'So beautiful' you thought.

"Ethan! Glad you could make it" Ethan just nodded and gave him a small smile.

"Who's this beautiful lady? I'm Reid" He asked and gave a cheeky smile, making you blush.

"I'm Samantha, his se–" "my girlfriend" Reid's eyes widened but he smiled after.

"Oops, guess she's taken already but I'm happy for you bro. Glad he has you by his side. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to attend to the other guests" you nodded and waved back with a smile before facing Ethan.

"Let's look at the pieces" you smiled and pulled him to one of the sections.

You looked back and saw him not looking at any of the pieces but he's just staring at you, making you raise your eyebrow.

"Why don't you look around? The pieces are beautiful" you suggested. He just shrugged as he continued gazing his eyes on you.

"Is something wrong? You're staring" you laughed nervously

"Nothing, it's just your pretty face sure would make a beautiful painting".
