Chapitre 11

police station ; 18.10 hours

"No! I want my dad!" Once the both of you reached the police station, both of you heard Ella's screams.

Your heart was beating so fast hoping that they weren't hurt.

"Papa!" Ella cried as she jumped into her father's arms.

"Mom!" Aiden's eyes widened as he ran into your arms.

"Shh it's okay hun. What happened?" He just shook his head and held onto you.

"Apparently, someone broke into their room's window. Almost got taken away. Thankfully, I heard Ella's screams" Leo said.

You kissed Aiden's forehead and whispered things softly in his ear to calm him down. You looked at Ethan and saw a sleeping Ella in his arms.

"She must be exhausted from crying" you looked up and saw a beautiful woman, probably in her forties.

"Mom, are you alright?" Ethan asked worriedly.

"Yes, we're all okay. Thank god Leo came to their rescue on time and called the police" she sighed in relief but then her eyes came in contact with yours.

"And who is this beautiful young lady?" She asked.

"My girlfriend" her eyes widened. Aiden was also exhausted so he slept soundly in your arms.

"Hello Mrs. Carter, I'm Samantha Bowen" you bowed and gave her a small smile.

"Just call me mom or auntie. Welcome to the family sweetheart. Too bad that this is how we first met, in a police station" you all laughed.

"Leo, did you find out who did this by the way?" He asked and Leo nodded.

"It was Damien, he was about to run away but before he could do that, there were cops surrounding him on the ground" Ethan's jaw clenched.

"I'm going to file a restraining order on him for almost kidnapping my kid" he was mad.

After being interviewed by an officer, all of you decided to go home together. No way Ethan was letting anyone out of his sight for tonight.

"Stay here for tonight" Ethan said. "Are you sure?" You asked.

"I'm more than sure. I can't risk you out there alone. Not today" you sighed but you gave him a small smile and pecked him on the lips, making him grin as he kissed your forehead.

He leaned his forehead on yours "I can't express how thankful I am that you're here. You keep me sane" you chuckled at his words.

Ethan hired a bunch of guards to keep a look out inside and outside of the house.

Leo decided to sleep with the kids at their shared room.

"Do you want to shower first?" You nodded. After both of you freshened up, you head to bed and leaned on him, making him wrap his arm around you

"Tomorrow, I'll go to the courthouse and file a restraining order against that asshole" he muttered.

Your hand went up to his face, caressing it "I know they'll grant you that. You have the last will and testament, and what he did today is in addition to the evidence on why he can't get near the babies ever again" he leaned into your touch and held your hand, kissing it.

You looked at him lovingly with your eyes. He caressed your hair and kissed your forehead

"Goodnight my heart. Go get your rest, it's been a long day" you yawned and nodded as you cuddled more onto him, making him chuckle.

The next morning. You stayed at home with the kids, it was Ethan's order while he went to the courthouse. His mom was also there. You get to spend time with his mom, and the kids more. While the kids were playing with their legos, you decided to go through your phone.

'Darn those legos, almost made me die thrice today' you thought. You saw a bunch of messages from your co-workers and friends.

Apparently, they saw the news and asked if you were alright and what happened. You just told them that the kids were almost kidnapped.

That's all, it's not your place to tell them every detail. There was a knock on the front door, making you stand up but Mrs. Carter already opened it.

You saw an unfamiliar woman, she was quite the beauty too. She looked very professional in her outfit.

"Aunt Valerie!" The kids ran up to her and hugged her, making her smile and greet the kids and Mrs. Carter "hi babies, hi auntie. You must be Samantha" she smiled at you as she sat on the couch.

You returned her smile "how did you know?" You asked and she chuckled.

"I called the kids last night and they talked about you a lot," she chuckled. "Also, Ethan told me about you. We talked last week" your heart fluttered at the thought. You had fun talking with her.

Soon after, you hear the front door open and close. Looking back, you saw Ethan and Leo following behind.

"Ethan, did they grant it to you?" He nodded.

"A temporary one first. But they'll grant it permanently after the hearing. That's what they said. Also, hi" Ethan chuckled and so did Valerie.

He carried both of the kids and kissed their forehead.

"Oh Leo, you're here too" Valerie gave him a sarcastic smile. "And you too" he gave her a tight lipped smile.

"Do they hate each other?" Ethan just shrugged. "They've always been like that," he whispered and laughed.

"What did you sweethearts do today hm?" He asked Aiden and Ella.

"We played and watched a movie" Aiden smiled and leaned on you.

"What a mama's boy," Mrs. Carter chuckled as she placed four cups of coffee on the table.

"Drink up" you all thanked her. After a little while, you and Ethan were just laughing around and talking.
