Maria's POV (The next morning, Anthony and Maria's house)
Maria: Are you okay? - I laughed while packing my last bag.
Anthony: I'm perfectly fine, why?
Maria: Anthony - I put my hand on my mouth - Your water is already pouring out of the glass.
Anthony: Wha... - He looked down at his hand - Shit - He mumbled angrily and stopped pouring water into the glass.
Then, he started looking around for some towel to wipe the water out of the desk.
Maria: You're incredibly lost in your thoughts since morning - I sighed and approached him - I'm worried about you.
Anthony: I'm fine, don't worry about me - He smiled and started wiping the table.
Maria: Anthony, please look at me.
Anthony: I'm fine, Maria - He sighed and looked at me - It's just... I'm worried about Elena, that's all.
Maria: You're lying - I laughed.
Anthony: No, I'm not lying. Of course I'm incredibly worried about her. Elena was supposed not to take any criminal cases anymore - He said firmly.
Maria: Please, trust me Anthony - I touched his face - She'll be fine, I promise.
Anthony: Why do you want her to go on this trip? This case is related to West, it's definitely too dangerous. Of course Elena will be the West family's target.
Maria: That's why James and Noah will go with them. Elena isn't stupid, Anthony - I said firmly - She's a mother now, of course she'll to everything to protect Lucy and Emery.
Anthony: And who will protect her?
Maria: Eric - I smiled.
Anthony just sighed annoyed and looked away. And he's like that since yesterday. Of course I completely understand him, Elena is the apple of his eyes. He'll do everything for her and her safety, but... She really needs that trip. Why do I think so? Well... Let's say that one day, someone will thank me for that.
Maria: Do you trust me, Anthony?
Anthony: Of course I trust you, Maria - He took a deep breath and looked at me again.
Maria: If so, then relax and enjoy our little trip - I smiled and gave him a quick kiss - She promised she would call you everyday. If you trust me, trust your daughter too.
Anthony: Has anyone ever told you that you are annoying?
Maria: Yes - I smirked.
Anthony: Who was that genius? - He smirked proudly and crossed his arms on his chest.
Maria: Your future son-in-law - I winked at him and ran away from him.
Anthony: Maria for God's sake! - He shouted furiously and ran after me - What the fuck did I say about Danford?
Maria: See? - I was running down the stairs all the time laughing - I didn't even mention his name and you immediately thought about him. You miss him too, liar!
I finally ran downstairs and when I was about to ran the main room I slightly peeked behind me back and I saw furious Anthony behind me.
I screamed with laugh, grabbed the door handle and ran to the room...
