Brandon refused to talk about the fight but rumours spread that he liked Lena. Lena tried to squash the rumours because of how things went afterword with Brandon ignoring her for some reason. So out of desperation Lena went to the detention room which was down the hall and to the right. She glanced in and saw the teacher was asleep while Rider was sulking. They both had detention but Brandon got to stay in the classroom but since Rider wanted round two. The teacher sent him to the detention room.

Lena had time since it was lunch and opened the door and went in to figure out what happened. Rider looked up and seemed disappointed but smirked at her and why was it so easy? Boys can smile or put their hands on their neck and it's attractive. All they had to do was smile or smirk and show their pearly whites and touch their damn bed head and Lena was left in a state of pudding.

"What happened with Brandon."

"You saw what happened. We fought. I'll get payback."

"What were you fighting over?."

"I dunno really Allison told me to go behind those bleachers and wait behind that tree...Brando showed up and-."

Lena was shocked Allison set it all up. That love letter wasn't from Rider and of course it wasn't he admitted publicly he was happy she wasn't into him. Lena got up from the chair and went for the door Rider instinctively got up and grabbed her hand. Lena was confused and tried to break away.

"Let go."

"Sorry..dunno why I did that."

"You're still wearing it..."

"What..."

"The collar..."

"Mhm."

"Why?."

Rider moved closer to her and she smelled the mint toothpaste on his breath. Lena knew if she let this continue something would happen and she was scared. She didn't know if she wanted something to happen so she Opened the door and ran.

Lena made it back to class and tried to calm down and she turned to Brandon and passed a note that said Thank you.

Brandon smiled and looked at Lena who looked like she was blushing. He put the note inside his binder and smiled the whole afternoon until Rider came back into class. Tomorrow they both started their respective three day suspensions. Rider looked pleased and it annoyed Brandon for some reason and he didn't like seeing Rider looking at Lena. Brandon liked Lena as a friend and he wasn't sure if those feelings extended beyond that but he knew Rider and he wanted him as far from Lena as humanly possible.

The rest of the day passed by easily and Lena went to her bus. Turned on her mp3 and listened to music but she wished she would've called her mom for a ride because once she got off the bus. A chubby girl named Natalie who always smoked with two bleach blonde boys named CJ and Josh along with her little brother got off at her stop. As soon as the bus left they picked up pace and soon enough Lena was running from them. It was four versus one. They started to throw stones at her and whatever they found on the street.

"You UGLY FAT BITCH."

"Kill yourself you monster."

"Look at that huge fucking nose."

"Ugly Russian bitch."

"DIE."

Lena started to cry but they encircled her and she didn't understand why this was happening. When she saw Natalie's  little brother pick up a bolder that looked like it could crack her skull. She took off faster then ever. Bleeding from the cuts and bruises from the stones that they threw at her. Lena got away and locked the building door once she was buzzed in. They were banging on the glass and couldn't get in. Lena continued running and once at the loft she opened the door and went to bathroom to try to clean herself up.

They aimed for her face and got her pretty good in a few spots. Why did they attack her? Then again kids didn't need a reason to be cruel but they were in one grade below her and CJ was a grade above her. Natalie always hated Lena even though they were a grade apart. But she hated the Lena she never met the one made up by rumours or maybe the rumours just made Lena an easy target. As Lena grabbed the soap and water to wash her face she realized there were more cuts from the rocks. So Lena took off the clothing and threw it in the hamper and went into the shower. That's when Lena began hysterically crying and her nose was dripping and bleeding too. She looked horrific. 

Lena wondered would they have killed her. She didn't want to return to school but she felt sick and started to throw up in the shower. Just then she heard the front door open and she wanted to hide but Kat was inside.

"Anyone home?."

"Hey sis..you're home."

"Yeah and you're showering? Save some hot water,I'll shower later."

"Um sure...no problem."

"And don't take thirty minutes in there again."

"Kat can you BACK OFF."

"Excuse me but what's with the tone."

Kat made it to the door and Lena forgot to lock it and as Kat opened Lena tried to tell her to leave. But Kat saw the bruises on her sisters face and the swollen eye. The cotton balls and medical alcohol on the sink. Kat was frozen in place and a million horrible situations went through her mind. Did someone assault her. Was it sexual assault. How can someone get away with murder. How long for manslaughter. Tears ran down her cheeks.

"Squirt who did this!."

"N..n..nn."

"Lena!."

"Natalie! And her brother with CJ and his brother Josh."

"Those pieces of human shit...wastes of fucking flesh. Where are they!."

"They left after I got away.."

"Oh squirt..."
