The readjustment wasn't easy as classmates joked that she would skip again but Lena was determined to stick it through. Brandon met up with her everyday after school. Almost everyday and hung out at the loft. With family counselling for her and her father. Lena was feeling better and started to work out everyday and cut out sugars, bread and ate as healthy as possible. Kat supported her and even joined her for yoga in the mornings.

At school Lena would tune out the world with her earphones. As Brandon wasn't there sometimes since he was rehearsing. He wouldn't let her hear this song which made her wonder even more what the song was about. By the end of seventh grade Lena saw small changes and her grades were back up to the regular Bs and Cs with the occasional A. As summer was approaching Lena was looking forward to going to Europe to visit her aunts and her grandmothers and grandfathers.

"Lena isn't your birthday coming up?."

"Yeah it's June thirtieth."

"We have to celebrate before you go!."

Suddenly Rider turned toward Brandon and Lena and smirked at her. He had overheard that she was leaving and thought maybe she could stop glancing at him like a love sick puppy. Maybe she will find a new obsession wherever she moves to.

"You're leaving?."

"Uh...for the summer."

"Bummer."

"Don't listen to him Lena."

"I never do."

Rider turned away and Dom looked over at Lena. He noticed her body was becoming shapely with curves coming in the right places. Maybe she was working out. He was happy no one else besides her lapdog noticed. Maybe all he had to do was show her that he was nicer than Rider and he could have her. Rider noticed his friend Doms quick glance at Yelena and he got a pant of anger. But he didn't understand it. So he ignored it and before he could think of something else Allison started to kiss him. He didn't mind it so he went with the flow.

Weeks flashed by and Lena was ready for school to be over. All the tests were done and teachers didn't care anymore. They put on a movie to watch or FIFA since it was also going on and the boys hogged the screen. Finally as the last day approached and Brandon told her he had a surprise for her at his house for her birthday and that after the party that they need to go there. She agreed to go and was also excited about whatever he had for her.

School was out and the teachers had the kids in class wish Lena the quickest birthday wishes. And for everyone to have a happy summer that they will see them in September for eighth grade.

Lena's European vacation was all set and she would be spending the first three days of her month in Europe. With her dads sister Antica and then the next three days with her mothers brother Luka. Basically bed surfing from one house to the next because each family member wanted equal time with her and her sister who they haven't seen since one was ten and she was five.

Her birthday was nice with just her sister and parents who managed to show up. Both figuring out how at work. That was a nice thing because at least holidays and birthdays were sacred. Mandatory even. Brandon gave her the coolest present for her birthday. Well second to her sister Kat who bought her an inuyasha dvd. Brandon gave her a mix CD of all her favourite songs. Her parents were cleaning up and she left with Brandon with their permission but they told her not to be long. That the flight was early so they would have to be earlier.

Brandon held her hand all the way to his place and on the bus. When they arrived there was nobody there but just them and for whatever reason. Lena was nervous and didn't expect it to be just them. Brandon led her to the backyard and opened the glass sliding doors. A glistening pool was in front of them with the cobblestones under their feet feeling hot.

"So what's the surprise."

"Wait out here okay."

Brandon sat her down on the beach chairs by the pool and Lena watched the steam rise from the pool. It was so cozy and she noticed how Brandon put up streamers and twinkle lights around the area. Maybe they were always here. Then again this is her first time in the backyard. Suddenly Brandon was back with his acoustic guitar and he looked so serious. He also looked so nervous. Lena had never seen him like this.

The moment he started strumming she remembered that this was the song from that moment. The first time she was over. When she accidentally walked in on him and his mother exposed her. He was such a beautiful singer. With each and every line of the song she was touched and wondered in the back of her mind if this was about her. But she didn't want to think that and give herself a big head. Or ever lose Brandon as a friend.

With the song finished Brandon looked everywhere but Lena's eyes and she wanted to make this awkward feeling go away. So she started to clap and whoop really loudly. He blushed and gave a bow to her. He also took her back inside and she asked him why he couldn't play that song at her house and he said it was personal and he only wanted her to hear this song. Lena smiled widely at him and gave Brandon the biggest hug. He held onto her too. The hug lasted longer than either thought it would but it was nice. Brandon also gave her a teddy bear that he made for her at build a bear that had a dress and his voice inside it that when you squeeze it says. I will always be here for you. Lena looked at Brandon.

"I will always be here for you too."

"I'm glad you like it."

"I love it. Thank you for everything."
