"Okay- everything seems to look good. How are you feeling?" The Dr. asked Jade.
"I'm fine?" She questioned.

"What is your name?" They asked. She looked over at me waiting for a response.
"Your name is Jade.." I mumbled.
"Jade." She answered confidently.

"Are you sure she's able to come home?" I asked, I wanted to be with her. I just didn't want to scare her. I looked at her and saw the love of my life... but when she looked at me she only saw a stranger.

"There's no medical reason for her to stay... but I understand your worry." The doctor sighed leaning against the bed.
"Just, be patient with her.."

"I want my daughter home." Her mom snapped.
"But.."
"But-nothing Eddie. I want her home. At my house."

"Daughter?" She asked.
"Yes-Jade. I'm your mother." Jade's mother grew impatient.
"I'll be there." I whispered.

"Eddie-"
"You're going to leave her home alone when you're at work?" I snapped. My eyes grew wide and I bit down on my tongue. I've been taught to not raise my voice to others, but I couldn't send her home alone.
"Fine." Her mom scoffed.

"Good luck." The doctor whispered patting my back.
I helped Jade's mom gather up her stuff and we walked out of the hospital.

I sat in the back of the car, I kept looking at Jade as she looked through the window, it was as if she saw everything in Hawkins for the first time.
"Am I your only daughter?" She asked.

"Yes honey, you're my only kid." Her mom sighed looking at me.
"Is-my dad...home?" She mumbled. My body shot forward looking at her. Jade's mom looked at me, my heart sank at her question, it would just be too much to tell her everything right away.

"What do you remember?" Her mom questioned.
"Nothing...I'm sorry."

"Don't be sorry, it's okay." I sighed resting my hand on her shoulder.
"Nice rings." She commented smiling back at me.

"Maybe you and Eddie can look through photos when we get home. I have to leave for work soon." Her mom looked at me through the mirror. I knew her mom was impatient, she wouldn't be able to handle jogging Jade through her life.

"Okay..." Jade mumbled.

We drove up to her moms house, I looked at my watch at the time and realized Jade's mom had to leave for work. So I quickly gathered up the bags and Jade and I walked up to the house.
"Do you remember where you would place the spare key?" I smiled.
"No."

"Right. I'm sorry." I sighed, I walked over to the corner of the house, lifting up a fake rock I found the spare key. I ran back to go unlock the door and I saw Jade just standing there. She had no emotions to her face. She just stood there, staring at the door.
"Are you okay?" I asked opening the door.
"Yeah- I'm sorry. I just.. don't know." She mumbled walking behind me.

"It's okay, just. Let me know whenever you're uncomfortable. I can give you some space." I said softly.
"How long-uh. Have you been my boyfriend?" She questioned.

"For a while, we started dating our senior year of high school. So we're going on two years now." I laughed sitting on the couch.
"Have you always been this nice to me?" She smiled sitting next to me.

I pushed my tongue to the side of my cheek, this could go either way. I could lie, tell her everything has been fine. Not bring up Chrissy or Jason. Pretend we live in a perfect fairytale. Or I could tell her the truth.

"Yes-" I sighed. "We have been going through a rough patch, but other than that...we've been in love."

"I wanna hear about it but I'm hungry so wait." She smiled at me standing up. I felt my chest grow warm at the sight of her smile.
