"Congratulations class of 86!"
I looked around as we all began to throw our graduation caps up into the air, a round of applause rumbled the floor beneath us. I looked over at Eddie, a cheerful smile spread across his face.
"We did it!" He shouted looking back at me.I felt the excitement run through my body as he squeezed my hand. After the whole Jason incident, I felt a sense of relief knowing Eddie and I were in a good place. It was an eventful year, a little less anxious now that Jason has been in prison for a while. Towards the end of the ceremony Eddie and I met up with my mom and his uncle. They took us into their warm embrace as we celebrated this milestone.
"I'm so proud of you both!" My mom said with glee as she handed me a bouquet of flowers.
"Congratulations you two!" Wayne smiled handing me a rose."Is there anymore boxes in this room?" Steve asked poking his head through the door frame.
"Uh yeah, I have a couple on the closet." I replied motioning to my open closet.Eddie and I were getting ready to move into our own place. We had spent the last year planning everything. Thanks to Steve I had gotten a job at Family Video with him and Robin, Eddie had found a job at the local mechanic shop. We both decided to wait until a month after we graduated to start our jobs.
"I can't believe the day is here-" My mom sighed walking into my room. At this point it was empty, I had a few boxes laying around. I stood over my empty side table as I held the framed letter I got from Eddie last Christmas. Reading it again caused my chest to become warm, who knew we would end up here, over a year later.
"I know-" I sighed looking at her.
"It's never too late you know-"
"Mom!" I laughed looking at her.I walked over to my mom and raised my arms towards her, wrapping my arms around her I felt a deep sigh escape from her chest.
"I love you-I'm so proud of you." She spoke into my hair.
"Thank you, I love you too." I smiled into her chest."You ready?" Eddie tried to catch his breath as he leaned against the door frame.
"Yeah." I smiled looking at him.We gathered up the last of the boxes from my room and went outside.
"You know I hate this two car shit." I laughed closing the trunk of my car. Eddie had his stuff from the trailer packed up in his van, and in my car I had my stuff packed up. Steve helped as well packing up some boxes in his cars, it really takes a lot to move out, especially if it's two people moving in together. Throughout the last year my mom and Wayne have been very generous, gifting up essentials we would need for our place. Saving up was the most exciting part, without realization I was in charge of decorations. Throughout the year Eddie and I would spend 'date nights' at local thrift shops collecting things we would need. For my birthday last year my mom gifted up with kitchen sets we would need for our place."You're following me?" Eddie asked kissing my forehead.
"Yeah, I'll be behind you.""Let's get this show on the road!" Robin laughed getting into my car.
Eddie leaned down for a quick kiss before starting his van. As I started my car I took one good look at my house. My mom stood by the front door, her hand on her chest I could tell she was sad. I was her only child, and I had finally gotten the courage to move out on my own.
"One second." I said quickly looking at Robin, I ran out of my car for another hug from my mom."I promise I'll visit." I whispered as I heard her choke back tears.

Once I got the apartment open I pushed the front door open with my foot, trying to balance the boxes in my hand I managed to switch the light on w my elbow.Completely empty I took a first good look at it, carpet ran through the living room until the kitchen was met with white tiles. The whole area had warm lighting which was inviting in a sense, shuffling my feet through the carpet I placed boxes in the middle of the floor. I walked over to our window and pushed back the blinds, exposing the bright sun from outside. We found a place in a decent neighborhood, we had met our neighbors after signing the lease. They were pretty quiet people, one family just welcomed in a new baby so they apologized for any cries that could echo into our apartment.
Eddie grunted dropping boxes off next to mine.
"How are you feeling baby?" He asked gently as his hand ran up my back. His smile was comforting as his skin was glowing. I began to get lost in the trace that was Eddie, his tone was comforting as he simple looked at me."Good, and you?" I greeted him back with a smile.
"Good."Robin stumbled in holding a few boxes, her eyes looked up towards her bangs and she tried to blow them out of her face. I began to sort through boxes placing them in the rooms they were meant for.
"Ready for the couch Ed?" Steve asked walking in.
"Yeah-let's go." Eddie replied walking out."How exciting!" Robin was eager as she grabbed my shoulders.
"I know!" I laughed.I watched as Steve entered the room w half the couch, Eddie shortly after, we found this couch for a good deal, we decided to take my bed from my house since it was a bit bigger. Our decorations made up of mine and Eddie's.

"Man I'm hungry." Eddie slumped onto our couch. We had been working on unpacking for a while. We started this process early in the morning, it was now 5pm. We had gotten the important stuff set up, my mom hounded me days prior that it was always important to get the bed set up right away.
"Pizza?" I asked walking into the living room.
"Hell yes." Eddie sat up.
"Let's go" Steve said standing up.Eddie and Steve came back about 30 minutes later with two boxes of piece and a litter of soda.
"Which box has the cups in it?" I asked looking through three boxes we had set in the kitchen. When I found it I grabbed four cups, running them quickly under water I dried them with a roll of paper towels we had.
We all sat on the floor, enjoying each other's company. I was excited for this new chapter in my life.
"This is probably gonna be the hang out spot." Steve laughed taking a bite out of his pizza.
"Yeah when we all aren't working." Robin chimed in.Eddie's hand gently rested on my leg, I looked up at him and he sent an playful wink my way.
"Thank you guys for all your help today, I really appreciate it." I smiled at Robin and Steve who were both shoveling pizza into their mouth."Yeah-" Steve said cleaning the side of his mouth. "No problem."
We spent the rest of the night hanging out, I went through a couple boxes in the kitchen organizing things I looked over at Eddie, my heart filled with joy thinking about how this is our first place together. I was excited for all the new memories we were going to make together.
