Brielle felt odd.

She was just like any other teenager living under a roof in a country.

Although she never met her dad and only asked about him once, she grew up with her mom and her mom's boyfriend, Zach.
Through the years, she was always curious as to who her biological dad was but Zach on the other hand treated her like his own daughter.

She was happy but always wondered where and who her real dad was.

---------
"Bri, get down here please" she shouted

That was something which was supposed to sound polite but when you live with Charlotte Brooks AKA my mom, you would know what's good and bad news.

"I'm here "I called out

"Bri, Zach, and I are planning to have a picnic at a hill that's not far away. How about you join us? "Mom asked

In case you were wondering who Zach is, he happens to be my mom's current boyfriend since Dad either Died or ran away.

Confusing, right? All these years I lived with a man I didn't know while my biological dad's nonexistence was never explained.

I've known Zach as long as I can remember. Well for 17 years to be precise.

And, Paris is the city of love so it was obvious that my mom would find someone.

I on the other hand have never had a boyfriend, nor a kiss or anything else.

I guess you could term me under the 'introvert' category.

"Sorry Mom but I have a lot to study. Besides, I don't think I'm in the mood for a picnic. But you can go ahead ...I'll be fine "I assured her smiling

"Okay," she said with a sigh, "But if you change your mind, just tell our neighbors and they'll gladly give you a ride okay?

"Sure "I hugged her tight and they left.

There was no way I was going to our neighbors.

I never liked them, despite me always being nice to them they never even looked at me or asked for my name.

We had a huge house although we were just three people but our spacious house had my childhood's best memories.

Although I was an only child, I never got lonely growing up because of the Love and care my Mum showered me with.

As I sat alone in the living room and switched through all the channels to find something interesting to watch, my best friend Audrey knocked on the door.

I've known Audrey since third grade.
Back in third grade, I used to get bullied for how I looked. Everyone always made fun of me for wearing braces.

Especially one particular girl and that was Valerie.

But when I met Audrey, my life turned upside down and became much easier.

Audrey helped me stand up to my bully who for some reason had something to say to me on the daily.
Now, you may think it's like in the movies where the most popular girl's boyfriend or ex-boyfriend likes a nobody and then the most popular girl starts bullying her.

But no.

This wasn't it.

She used to frame me for stealing, cheating in the exams, and even bringing a dog(which was against the school rules)just to have me kicked out of school.

I always knew she looked for the unknown people in school and just annoyed them like hell.
I guess it was her nature and I couldn't change it.

And don't you think that the fragile girl who gets bullied becomes best friends or at least friends with the bully because once again, this isn't one of those movies.

Eventually, I found evidence of the stupid accusations she made against me, and before the principal could lay her hands on her, Valerie moved away with her family and I never heard from her again.

Yes, that's right, she was out of the story before you could finish speaking about her.

Ah well.

I did thank God after she left because it was great having her out of my life.

**
I minimized the TV volume and opened the door for her.

"Your mum looked pretty upset when I saw her and Zach in his car and that's why she asked me to come over and make sure everything was okay," she said giving me a "what happened" look

"I know she cares for me but I can take care of myself," I said with a tint of anger in my voice and headed over to the Kitchen and took some Chips from the counter.

"You have to understand her Bri, she only has you and Zach by her side and you don't even spend time with her anymore".She said in a convincing manner

Audrey was right, but I was also, right?

Mom always kept Dad's identity a secret and I had to grow up with people asking me tons of questions.
It felt like his ghost was wandering about in our house because Mom was always quiet when I tried to speak of him.

"Let's put that aside, P.S.G.W is on right now," I said while grabbing her arm and leading her to the couch.

P.S.G.W stands for Plastic surgery Gone Wrong. Audrey and I watched TV for at least 1 hour and 30 minutes and then I went to do the laundry.

Leaving her to clean up the mess we made whilst eating chips.

After some time, I headed back downstairs and grabbed my books to study.
And since Audrey insisted that she wanted to join me because she felt all her knowledge float out of her brain, I let her join me.

We studied together for some time and by the time we were done, it was six thirty so Audrey went home since her curfew is at 7.

My mum and Zach came home almost an hour later.

I had already made dinner for them and we sat down to eat.

We all just sat there and ate saying nothing to each other.

When I finished, I headed up to my room, took a bath, and brushed my teeth.

And awkwardly fell asleep while looking at a fashion magazine...
