I knocked on the door and heard him say 'come in' in a serious tone.I slowly walked inside as I noticed how serious he looked,as I sat down he he suddenly spoke ,
"You haven't been cautious about the places you've been going to,may I ask why you were wandering around in the city with a notebook in your hand?"
Was he stalking me ?I asked myself thinking of the reply I was to give him
"I-I was doing research."
"Research"?
"Y-Yes,New York is really interesting so I was learning about it's history and I was taking notes"I said as I smiled nervously
''Okay then.We have school tomorrow so go rest ''
"Okay" I said as I was leaving the room when he called me back
"Oh and Bri-"
I couldn't believe what I was hearing,he had never called me Bri.
"You don't have to come downstairs for dinner tonight,I'll just send one of the maids to bring you your food"
"Thanks" I said quietly and went back to my room.
As I was about to go to bed ,my phone started ringing and I saw that it was Zach calling?! I quickly picked up the phone
"Hello?"
"Brielle, how's everything going?"
"Everything is fine but how's my mom?Is she okay?I called but she didn't pick up.Did anything happen?
"Brielle relax,your mother is fine.Her phone fell while she was driving so it's not working well.I'd give the phone to her but she's already asleep".
"Okay thanks for calling.I'll hung up now I have to sleep.Bye"
I hung up the call feeling confused from Zach's words .His story just wasn't adding up.
Firstly,my mom only uses the train to go to work and secondly,My mom has night shifts on Thursday's and mostly comes home at 5-6 a.m which meant that he was lying.In order to find out the truth,I decided to call my mom's workplace and was told by one of her workmates that she was still doing her night shift and hasn't gone home yet.As shocking as it may have sounded to me ,I couldn't do anything since I wasn't there to confront Zach.I eventually fell asleep thinking of what Zach could have done to my mom
