Jade's POV:

Outside it was pouring and grey clouds covered the sky.

The bloody prints creeped me out aswell, yes, but showing fear made me feel weak and I hated it. That's why I left the building so...out of the blue.

I pulled my hood up as my hair was getting wet and I fastened my pace.

"Jade, wait!" I heard from behind me.

I turned my head to see Lea. "What?"

"Can I eat dinner at yours? My parents aren't home."

"Oh...sure." I replied.

I pushed the negative thoughts about that dude to the back of my head.

When we got to my house, my clothes were all soaking wet. I didn't know it would rain.

I changed into my grey sweatpants and a black baggy top. "Oh should I give you some of my clothes?" I asked Lea.

"No, I can go—"

"No. Here." I interrupted.

I closed the door and let her change. I went downstairs and made two smoothie bowls as I listened to the news on the TV.

"Fourteen year old boy found dead in his apartment. Investigators say he'd been stabbed."

My jaw fell open as I saw the image of the building we just left. Then an image of the fifth floor, the one we got stuck on.

What...

Lea came downstairs. "Why do you look like you just saw a killer?"

"Because i just did—"

"Wait what!?"

"They found a dead body at the fifth floor, the one we got stuck on..."

"Jade I told you. We have to tell the cops about the sketchy guy!" She seemed almost mad at me.

"Are you insane?" I blurted out. "The cops in this country are horrible! They will do nothing but suspect us."

"Then what the hell do we do? We can't just not say anything."

"I think I know..."

"What?" She asked, probably scared to hear my answer. By her tone she definitely knew it wouldn't be a good idea. And she was right.

"We're pulling an all nighter today."

She paused. "Jade...Are you saying—"

"Yeah. We're going."
