We were asked to stay overnight in hospital, but finally were allowed to leave. I've never seen Peeta as happy as he was now, holding Lily in the baby carrier as we enter our home for the first time as parents. Everything seems surreal.

Peeta puts his strong arm around my waist as we enter the door. "This is your home, Lily." Peeta whispers. We both make our way to the nursery, which Peeta decorated beautifully. He wouldn't let me see until now as he wanted it to be a surprise. I gasp as I enter, completely taken back by what I see. The walls are painted as a forest, with the sun hanging low creating a glistening orange, and beautiful shadows, with animals hidden behind trees.

"Peeta it's so beautiful." I say as I lean my head onto his chest. The painting reminds me so much of my childhood- and although it was definitely a difficult childhood, Peeta managed to capture all my positive memories into the painting, as well as his love for sunsets.

I gently kiss Lily's forehead. Before Peeta places her in her crib.

"I could just look at her all day." I whisper, careful not to wake her.

"Me too" Peeta replies.

My eyes start to feel heavy, I haven't slept properly in 48 hours. "I'm so tired." I murmur.

"Katniss you were so great, I'm so proud- no wonder your exhausted! Why don't you get some rest now. If she wakes up I'll deal with her."

I'm tempted to make that deal when all of a sudden our front door opens and closes. It's haymitch.

Once haymitch had seen lily, we made our way to the front room.

"I'll make the tea" Peeta states before leaving to the kitchen.

I lean back against the sofa, feeling completely exhausted. Haymitch puts his hand on my knee.

"I'm so proud of you both, you've come so far." I smile, to hear them words from my dad make me so happy.
