William 'Will' Byers, a twelve year old boy, was just biking home from his friend's house after a game of D&D, just like any normal day. Something felt different today, it was cold outside, not like it would be weird, it was November after all.
Will just biked around the woods in the dark, he wasn't scared or anything, he's done this a lot of times already, but today seemed to be different somehow, the weather almost too cold, but Will decided to ignore it. He dicided to ignore the weird feeling he had about biking alone at night in the woods, it has happened before, but he always got home safe.
Will convinced himself that he's going to be fine, until he saw a figure, way taller than a normal person, standing under one of the street lamps. Will got scared, falling off his bike off the road, not looking back Will ran into the forest, his first instinct was to run home, but an unknown voice in his head told him to run towards the lab. Will thought the voice must have been intuition and decided to listen to it.
Will ran deeper into the forest towards where he thought the Hawkins National lab was, he kept looking behind himself to see if the something was following him, and even if Will didn't see it, he knew it was. Will looked ahead of himself to see where he was going, noticing someone else, who had just turned ahead as well, running towards him and before any of them could prevent it, the two crashed into each other, falling backwards on their butts. Before Will could apologize, they heard a noice from where Will ran from, they both looked that way and the other person stood up, standing between Will and whatever was chasing him.
The thing made itself seen, roaring as it's face opened up into all sides, making the creature look like a flower with long human body, but still it didn't really make it any less scary. Will almost couldn't move and there this girl he randomnly bumped into stood, being the only barrier between him and the monster. And out of nowhere, the girl raised her hand, moving it to the sides, making the monster float within her hand movements, Will could just stare at her amazed.
"Wow, that was so cool." Will whispered as the monster ran off and the girl turned to him with a shy smile.
"Are you okay? Where are you running?" Will asked, noticing the girl had a hospital cloth and no shoes on, her hair was buzzed and she was over all dirty from mud and leafes, and her nose was bleeding.
"Bad people." the girl said, pointing towards the direction of where the lab was.
"Wait, did they hurt you? That's why you could do that?" Will asked, getting to his feet quickly, the girl just nodded.
"Do you have a place to go?" Will asked and she just shook her head in no.
"Do you want to come with me? I'm sure mom won't mind, and if we tell her what happened, she could get the bad people away." Will said with a smile, but the girl just shook her head, creating a finger gun, pointing towards Will, making a shoot-like motion.
"So, if we tell someone, we die?" Will asked and the girl just nodded.
"Okay, then I tell mom not to tell anyone, okay?" Will said and the girl nodded again.
"Okay, come on. I left my bike a few meter away, we can bike to my house." Will smiled, taking hold of the girl's hand, leading her to where he had previously left his bike, while running from the monster.
Will helped the girl up on his bike, before sitting in front, telling her to hold onto him and she did. They got to Byers' house quietly and peacefully, Will parked his bike, letting the girl in, she was looking around in awe.
"Pretty." she said, Will looked down.
"It's not much, you should see Mike's house." Will mummbled.
"Mike?" the girl asked, Will looked back up quickly.
