Jim Hopper had a lot on his plate. Having to handle an almost teenage girl, who was not allowed out the house, dealing with the Hawkins National lab, dealing with Murray Bauman and his nonsentual theories and to top it off, the farmers reported their pumpkins rotting just days before Halloween. Jim has had enough, he moved to Hawkins from New York to have some peace, but apparently that wasn't a thing for him.
It was the day of Halloween, Jonathan Byers drove his little brother to Mike Wheeler's house for trick or treating, as Will kept on filming with the recorder he got from Bob, their mother's new boyfriend.
"Be careful, okay?" Jonathan gave Will a small smile.
"Sure thing, I always am." Will smiled, Jonathan smiled back, waiting for his brother to join his friends before leaving towards the adress a party Nancy, his new friend, has invited him to. Jonathan didn't plan to attend, but Nancy convinced him.
"Hi." Will greeted the other two, Dustin waved at him.
"Hey man, what's that?" Lucas greeted, pointing at the camcorder.
"Mom's new boyfriend gave it to me." Will smiled, Lucas nodded.
"Okay, I'm here. We can go." Mike yelled as he ran out of his house, greeting Will with a hug.
The four of them were trick or treating in peace, until getting scared by none other than Maxine 'Max' Mayfield, she joined the group talking with Lucas and Dustin at the front as Mike frowned.
"Did you agree for her to go with us?" Mike turned to Will who was still playing with the camera.
"Yeah, I mean why not? She seems cool." Will shrugged.
"It was supposed to be just the four of us." Mike said, Will rolled his eyes.
"You didn't seem to mind when I said that I'll ask Hopper if El could go." Will reminded him with a smile, filming decorations around the street.
"Well, yeah. Because that's El, not Maxine." Mike scoffed, Will gave him a stare, Mike just rolled his eyes.
"I don't get what do you have against her, she didn't do anything to you as far as I'm aware, so what's your issue with her?" Will asked, genuenly curious.
"I don't need to have a reason to hate someone." Mike replied.
"I mean yeah, but that makes you as bad as Troy, you know that, right?" Will smiled innocently.
"Maybe I just want to keep the reason for myself, then." Mike mummbled, looking down. Will giggled and the two joined their friends and Max.
Later that evening, Will stayed slightly behind to take a good shot of a house that had extra pretty decorations. Suddenly someone pushed him and Will fell to the ground.
"What do you want here, fairy boy?" it was Troy and a couple of his friends.
"I was j-just trick or treating." Will let out in fear.
"Yeah, deffinetly not filming some boys changing, you creep." Troy let out a sharp laugh.
"N-no, I was just filming the decorations." Will said, trying his hardest not to cry.
"Y'all need something?" the boys turned to face a redhead with a plastic knife in her hand, ready to throw hands.
"Nothing, hot stuff." Troy replied with a smirk.
"Careful or I might burn you to death. And I will if you don't take your leave." the girl said with the face that clearly said 'You want to test me?'
"Okay, we'll take our leave. Later, gay boy." Troy said, giving Will one last glance.
