Joyce, Murray, Hopper and Alexei rejoined the kids in the mall, informing them that the gate was closed. Still, no one knew where Will and El were, they decided to go to Byers' and discuss what to do next. Joyce opened the door and was greeted with Bob who seemed to be cleaning up.

"Hi, honey." Joyce said, giving him a kiss on the cheek. Bob looked at her and then the rest standing in the door.

"I very much expect an explanation to why over half of you look like you just crashed a plane." Bob said, looking at each of them carefully.

"There's a lot to explain, but right now Will and El are missing and they might be in a life threatening danger and we need to find them, so I'll explain when they're safe, promise." Joyce quickly said.

"Oh, okay. What happened to them?" Bob asked in worry. But as in on cue, the phone started ringing, Joyce got over to answer it, tears streaming down her eyes as she put the speaker over her ear.

"No, baby it's me. It's mom." Joyce said, everyone looking at her with expectations.

"Yeah, no. Don't panic, I'll send Hopper right away to get you, okay?" Joyce said to the phone, looking at Hopper, mouthing "Your cabin." Hopper caught on, going outside with Jonathan and Mike following.

"Can't you two stay here?" Hopper turned to them.

"It's my brother." Jonathan said in defense.

"And my best friends." Mike said, Hopper shrugged gesturing for them to get in the car.

As they drove, Joyce kept talking to Will, trying to calm him down through the phone as the boy was panicking a lot. El was unconscious and Will had no idea what to do, with Billy and the Mind Flayer on the front porch, he had all rights to freak out.

"No, mom, y-you don't understand I.. I.. she won't wake up." Will cried.

"I know, Hop is on his way and he will take care of it, okay? She's still breathing, right?" Joyce said trying to sound calm.

"Yeah, no, I dunno, mom I.. I can't breathe." Will said, choking back tears.

"It's okay, sweetie, help is on the way just hold on the phone, okay? Everything's gonna be okay, you will both be fine." Joyce said, starting to panick herself.

"N-no, mom I se- I seriously can't... I can't..." Will said, trying to draw a breath, but it seemed like he forgot how to.

"Will, are you okay? Sweetheart, talk to me." Joyce said, already panicking too.

Luckily enough, Hopper had already arrived, parking his car as Mike and Jonathan jumped off, not even waiting for the car to fully stop as they ran towards the cabin, seeing the monster laying there.

"Is it dead?" Mike asked carefully stepping over the monster's tentackles(?).

"I sure hope so." Jonathan replied, doing the same.

The boys didn't even bother with Billy's body on the doorsteps as they ran in, seeing El on the couch, Jonathan checking her pulse.

"I'll take her to the hospital with Hopper, I trust you with my brother." Jonathan said as he picked El up.

"Sure." Mike nodded and Jonathan left the house, meeting with Hopper half way as they both turned to go back to the car.

"Will?" Mike called out, going towards the kitchen where the phone was. Will was sitting on the floor, hugging his knees, tears rolling down his cheeks, the phone hanging above his head.

"Will, are you okay? Look at me." Mike quickly sat down next to Will, placing his hands on Will's shoulders. "Can you breathe?" Mike asked, Will shook his head in panic.
