June groans, stretching and getting out of bed. She smelled breakfast and that was enough to wake her up. She looked over to her sister's bed, but she wasn't there. So she assumed that El had already woken up.
"Morning, Dad. Where's El?" She said as she took a seat. Momentarily, she saw her sister in a ghost costume approaching Hop. She jumped a little but decided to not ruin the fun surprise for her dad, so she stayed quiet.
"Oh, I thought she was sleeping," He turned around to see where El is but she was already in front of him. "Oh! Jesus," Hopper yelled as he saw El. This made June giggle, she thought El looked adorable in that costume.
"Ghost," El says.
"Yeah, I see that," Hopper responds back, grabbing the pan out of the stove.
"Halloween." El says again, which makes Hopper respond again,
"Sure is... But right now it's breakfast, okay?" He sets the food down on the table. June could care less about their conversation, the real thing she cared about was the scrumptious food staring at her. She did enjoy the company of her dad and sister. Their bickering made her morning entertaining.
"They wouldn't see me," El says confusing both Hopper and June.
"Who wouldn't see you?" Hopper asks.
"The bad men."
"What are you talking about?"
"Trick or treat." El says, making Hopper look at her for a second.
"You wanna go trick-or-treating?" He asks in some slight disbelief and she nods.
"You know the rules."
Hopper and El keep repeating things like "They wouldn't see me" and "I don't care".
"Go out there, ghost or not, it's a risk. We don't take risks because they're stupid and..." He says, waiting for her to finish off. "We are not stupid!" El continues the sentence for him. "Exactly. Now you take that off, sit down and eat. Your food's getting cold."
"You literally just put it down..." June joins in on the convo, making her dad and El jump a little because they forgot she was even there.
Hopper ignores her. Him and El take a seat and he starts pouring syrup, but El doesn't eat. He sighs.
"Alright, look. How about I get off early tonight and I buy us a bunch of candy, and we can sit around and get fat and watch some scary movie together. How's that for a compromise?"
