Stacy looked for a costume in her wardrobe for about an hour. There was a costume she was hesitating about wearing. It was a pirate costume. Finding nothing else, she decided to pick it. She dressed up and took her bike to Cherry Road as Max told her.

Riding her bike, she kept thinking about who's coming with them. At school, she was always an observer-she knew many people, most of the people in her building were either quiet, rude, bullies, or nerds. There were bullies like Stacey, a girl in her math class. Stacey had the same name as her, they just spelled it differently. Whenever their math teacher called for one of them, they'd both look up. Most of the time the teacher called for the rude one.

There were rude people that weren't bullies, they just minded their business. But when people tried talking to them, they would say things like 'mind your business' or 'shut up'. A person she categorized as rude was a boy called Peter. He was in two of her classes, English and History. He wasn't a nerd. In fact, he failed most of his classes.

The nerds, according to everyone in her grade, were the kids from the arcade that she met. The only boys she knew the names of were Dustin, Lucas, and Will. She knew Will's name because he was missing last year. Everyone talked about him. Now people refer to him as 'zombie boy' because he had a whole funeral and magically, he was alive. This was always a mystery for Stacy. She thought once they became close friends with her, she can ask them about it.

Finally, Stacy arrived at Cherry Road. She got off her bike and walked with it. She stopped at a stop sign then waited. One minute, three, five. A person wearing a Michael Myers mask holding a fake knife charged towards her. Frightened, she backed away abruptly and dropped her bike. The person took the mask off laughing. Now the person was much clearer. It was the girl. Max.

"My God, that was frightening!" Stacy exclaimed, clutching her chest. The other girl, on the other hand, laughed even harder.

"That was hilarious!" Max said. Stacy gave her an offended death stare. But she laughed at Max's contagious laughter. "Never do that again." She said and grabbed her bike from the floor. Finally, Max stopped laughing, still smiling though. She noticed the bike Stacy was holding.

"Hey, my house is right there," Max pointed to her right. "You can leave your bike and take it once we're done trick-or-treating." She continued. Stacy considered it, then she nodded.

They both walked to Max's porch and Stacy left her bike.

"So, I never got to ask but, who are these 'boys' exactly?" Stacy asked as they were walking.

"I call them the stalkers. But, you'll see! They told me to meet them at the Maple Street cul-de-sac at seven. And, it's almost seven now so, come on!" They passed by Stacy's house.
