The Meeting

Jennifer's POV

After I hang up the phone I realize that I just can't go to the orphanage and bring home a random kid.

I need to plan this out. Do I want a girl or a boy? What's my ideal age range?

Oh that's nonsense it doesn't matter what the child is. I'll love him or her no matter what.

Oh my god I just realized that my parents don't even know I'm going to adopt. After realizing this I decide to make quite a few phone calls explaining to everyone that I'm going to adopt.

After I make all my phone calls I set down my phone. That went surprisingly well. I received mostly positive feedback. Especially from my Mom, she is ecstatic that I'm going to have a child.

I have to go shopping for the child. Though I don't know if it's going to be a girl or a boy. I should just wait for me to pick up anything until I get the child.

I really just want to pick up the child now but I may need a while to child-proof the whole house and mentally prepare myself.

A week goes by and today I've decided to go to the orphanage.

I'm so excited I basically run to my car. I punch in the address of the orphanage into the GPS. Sunshine Orphanage here I come!

Lux's POV

I've only been here a week and it's not as bad as I thought it would be. It's worse. I'm one of the older kids so it's not like I'm getting bullied or anything. It just sucks.

It's always like someone's breathing down my neck, watching me.

I can't wait to get out of here. Away from this place and the screaming children.

I'm faintly hear the front door open and close.

It's probably just the orphanage's owner Ms.Doris. The one who gave me such a 'warm welcome'. I think to myself.

"EVERYBODY GET OUT HERE!" I hear Ms.Doris yell.

I roll my eyes when I hear her voice. What now? I think.

I slowly walk out of the room with my my gaze locked on the floor.

"Everybody I would like you to meet Ms. Morrison. She will be adopting one of you today." Ms. Doris says oddly nice.

My ears perk up at the word adopt. I lift my head to see a gorgeous woman in her mid 30's staring straight at me.

I quick put my head down when I see her staring at me. Maybe I'll get adopted! No I'm too old, why would she want me?

Jennifer's POV

I take a look around the room to see a girl around 15 maybe 16 with gorgeous blonde hair with her head laying low.

She reminds me of when I was 15.

It's her, she's the one I want to adopt I can feel it in my bones.

I feel a tap on my shoulder and turn around to face the source.

"Feel free to look around some kids and talk with them. Let me know when you think you've found a match." The owner of the orphanage informs me.

I say hi to some kids as I make my way to girl that I saw earlier.

Once I find her I stop and introduce myself

"Hi I'm Jennifer! What's your name?" I ask.

"Lux, Lux Valentine" She answers. I smile at the sound of her name.

"It's very nice to meet you Lux!" I say to her with a smile reaching ear to ear on my face.

Eeeekkkk they finally met!

I wanted to wait a little longer until they met but I got too excited for this 😂
