Lux's POV

The drive to the diner was filled with a comfortable silence. Unlike the past week where awkward silence would fall, this was different.

I continue to look out of the window as Abby pulls into the parking lot of a diner I had never been to before. We both exit the car and make our way towards the entry.

As we enter, I take a moment to look at the surrounding atmosphere. It was a quaint diner with no more that 5 costumers at the moment. Though, was still a very welcoming space.

It seemed as though that Abby had been here before, she sat down and held up two fingers at the waitress. As though they had a secret communication the waitress understood.

"So how's Jen doing?" She casually asks as we wait for our food.

"She's doing okay I guess, she still doesn't have her memory though. The doctors said it just might take time." I respond not taking my gaze up from the table.

Unexpectedly, I feel Abby reach over and grab my hand in an attempt to comfort me. I only respond by squeezing her hand back and giving her a tight small.

Only a few moments after, our food arrives.

I don't waste anytime and I start to eat the food that was placed in front of me.

"Whoa! How hungry were you?" She exclaims surprised.

"I didn't really had a spare moment to eat last night." I answer simply.

"Lux..." Abby lets out a disappointed sigh.

"I left dinner out for you last night, why didn't you eat?"

"I don't know, I've just been too busy with Jen."

"I know how hard it must be for you to go through this, but, you can't stop caring for yourself. You need to make sure that her situation right now doesn't affect your well being." She answers me with concern etched in her voice.

I take a few moment to let that sit in.

"I know, it's just things are so stressful right now." I answer her

Jen's POV

Wait.

That's all the doctors have told me to do. Just wait and the memories should slowly start to come back.

But I can't afford to wait, when Lux needs me.

Though I have no memories, one thing and one thing only is certain. My love for Lux.

It was instant as soon as she walked into my room. It was almost as though the love for her still remained all though the memory had not.

I need to get my memory back. Soon.

But I can't do much, considering I am put into bed rest. Though after a few more test the doctors have informed me that I may go home if I wished.

Wherever that is.

Before I let my thoughts run wild I'm stopped by a soft knock on the door.

"Come in!"

The door slowly opens revealing the person responsible for the knock. A smile creeps up on my face when I see who it is.

Lux.

She shyly enters the room and begins to talk.

"When you first adopted me, we had spent the previous night stay up late and watching TV. We both had fallen asleep on the couch, not bothered to actually get up and go to our bedrooms." She began recalling, as she took a seat in the chair beside my bed.
