It had been so long since you had last seen Khonshu, that you had become numb inside. You found little joy in anything, except for watching the mortals in the viewing sphere you had. It wasn't as thrilling as actually being down on Earth, but at least it helped dull the ache.

Before you knew it, it was your birthday again.

Your mother had come around, trying to coax you out of your dark corner. She wanted you to get out of the area, and explore the Celestial Heliopolis, the city of the Gods. You didn't care that it was your birthday, and really, you had forgotten up until she mentioned it. It wasn't a special day any more, merely a painful memory that Khonshu had left, never to return.

"Little star, please... It's your birthday. At least try to smile."

"I don't want to smile. I am not happy." You replied with a blank face. Your mother sighed, not liking how dull you were.

"Well, Hathor has come by. She wishes to speak to you."

"Fine. I'll see her." You said, and your mother left to fetch Hathor.

When Hathor came in, she was quiet. She observed you for a while, both of you not saying anything. She saw how your hair wasn't shining, and how your eyes were dull with very little sparkle left to them. Even your skin was dull, going an ashy dark grey, which wasn't exactly healthy or normal for a deity. She knew as she gazed at you, that you needed to see Khonshu again, that the bond he formed with you was making you sick with the lack of seeing him.

"Hey... I would ask how you are, but we both know you're not doing well." She started to say. You just nodded, and sighed.

"You know, no one is stopping you from going to see him." She said, and finally moved, looking up to meet her eyes.

"If he hasn't come to see me by now, why bother? He obviously wants nothing to do with me after what his father did to him..." You muttered softly, eyes downcast at the dark orb in your hands.

"That's not true, little one. He hasn't come to see you, because he thinks he isn't worthy of you. He can't stand to look at himself in the mirror, and he's disgusted at what he sees. He figures you couldn't possibly want a monster with the way he is stuck now." Hathor softly said as she crouched down to place a gentle hand to your shoulder.

You hadn't thought of that possibility...

Oh no...

"Do you know for certain that he wants to see me again?"

"Yes. I have been to visit him a few times. I've tried convincing him to come visit you, but he is set on torturing himself. He doesn't believe me that you want to see him."

"I don't care what he looks like." You whispered, and Hathor hummed.

"See? I told him that, but he is a stubborn one. Why not go see him, then?"

"I... I've never gone to Earth by myself. I don't know how to get there..." You replied while trying to stop yourself from crying. You failed, and the tears fell, and soon your nose was running.

You had tried, but you couldn't quite figure out exactly how to get down there. You could only teleport to places you could see, and Earth was a little too far of a distance to get to. Several times, you had ended up in the inky darkness of space, and each time you freaked out at the lack of air and the weightless void of space, only to return back home in a panic. You felt pathetic, because you felt like you were a useless example of a Goddess if you couldn't even teleport to Earth like the others could. You were so embarrassed about it, you dared not ask for help.

"I can take you down there, if you want." She offered.

The second you heard those words, you brightened up. Hathor witnessed your hair begin to show a bit of its natural luster. She saw your skin returning to its original shade. And the most important thing, your eyes twinkled again with those pinkish stars. Even your very spirit seemed to shine with excitement.
