The next day I woke up to my alarm, I forgot to turn it off like I usually did when I didn't have to go to school.

"Fuck you", I muttered as I turned it off and went back to sleep for another few hours before I woke up again, not being able to go to sleep again.

Figuring dad was already at work, I walked downstairs to the kitchen. No clue why though, I never really ate breakfast.

"I want milk."

Mumbling random words under my breath, I opened the fridge door and pulled out a milk carton and poured myself a glass of milk. I took a sip of it, sitting on the counter as I watched tiktoks. Chugging the milk, I scrolled down my contact list to check if someone had changed their profile pic and stumbled upon a girl I used to be best friends with not even a year ago.

It was her in a tiny ass shirt, showing off her body which made me extremely mad somehow. I didn't want her to be pretty. Everyone I fight with has to be ugly or dumb.

I let out a breath as I walked into the basement and turned on the lights, revealing my punching bag and boxing gloves in a corner. I put on my playlist and put on the gloves and looked at the punching bag, asking myself why I was even mad.

Sighing, I pictured her in my mind and simply let my anger out on the punching bag. I never knew why, but dad bought me a punching bag once and I just never got rid of it. This might also be why I punch things when I'm mad a lot.

My phone ringing made me snap out of my somewhat trance and take off my gloves. It was Kain again.

"What's up?"

"Uh, Tate told me he wanted to get McDonalds before we go to the thrift store so we'll meet at the McDonalds near it."

"And you couldn't text me that?"

"Tina said I should call you."

"Oh well, we're meeting at two, right?"

"Yeah."

"'Kay, see you then."

"See you."

I hung up and sighed, deciding it was enough violence for now and took off the gloves, hanging them by the punching bag. While I was texting some online friend, I walked into the living room and lied down on one of the sofas.

A few minutes later I got bored and walked into my room and pulled out my old guitar from wherever it was. It was obviously out of tune, due to me playing bass for the last few years but it still looked fine.

After tuning it, I sighed and tried to play Rape Me by Nirvana, because it was one of the first few songs dad had shown me how to play.

To be fair, I wasn't perfect because I didn't know all the tabs anymore so I couldn't visualize but I was still a bit impressed. Maybe I was actually made for playing guitar. Pfft, no, bass players are cooler.

"DO I STILL HAVE MY WAH PEDAL?!", I yelled and looked inside a box that was in the corner of my room, which was filled with picks, paddles and whatever else I need for my guitars. I already had one out but it was the one I got before switching to bass, I was looking for a specific one. One my dad used. It was quite old but it was special.

After a few minutes of digging inside that box, I found my pedal. Letting out a sigh of relief, I put it on the floor and put the other things back inside, before deciding I got kind of bored and went on my phone, jumping onto my bed. I grabbed my headphones and started listening to music, starting off with a few Nirvana songs, because I had just played a song of theirs and needed more.

**********

It was about 2 pm and I was waiting by the McDonalds Kain told me to wait at, Mercyful Fate blasting through my headphones. After I saw them walking towards the McDonalds, Tate and Kain walking next to each other with James and Tina behind them, I turned off the music and took my headphones off.

"Hey", Tina smiled, hugging me. Quite weird but I didn't say anything and said hi to James, who was still next to her.

"What are you getting?", Tate asked Kain as they went to order.

I realized they were quite touchy with each other when Kain threw his arm over Tate's shoulder while he was ordering. It always made me uncomfortable when people I wasn't that close with touched me but sighed and ordered the usual.

Not long after I sat down to eat, I got a text from Kevin.

Kev

Okay but hurry up

I sighed, put down my phone and started eating.

"Uhm guys I can't stay very long. I might have to leave in like ten minutes or something", I mumbled as I took a sip from my drink.

"Huh, what's wrong?", James asked, looking at me as he bit into a chicken nugget.

"I can't explain. But I just explained why I'm gonna eat like a pig", I smiled sarcastically and continued stuffing my mouth and taking sips every time. This went on for about ten minutes before I sighed and looked at Tate who was also finished eating.

"Welp, I need to go, tell me if the thrift store was good", I told Tina and stood up with my things and tray to put it away as I walked outside.

When I was in my car, I texted Kevin.

Kev

I'm gonna be home in like ten or smth

What's your address

***

Why😨

Doesn't matter

Uhm okay

Kevin went offline, causing me to groan and drive off as Anastasia by Slash was playing. I decided to learn how to play it and listening to it a few times helped me quite a bit, due to me wanting to learn by ear sometimes.

I smirked when All In The Family by Korn started playing as I stopped because of a red light and looked to my right, seeing some guy about my age with his window rolled down.

Because of that, I heard the music playing from his car. It was Purity by Slipknot, I believe. After a few seconds he turned to me, and I smiled at him slightly, hoping he'd somehow get that I have the same taste in music as him. He looked at me for a second before returning a smile but looked back onto the road.

I let out a sigh in relief, it would've been embarrassing if he was annoyed or just glared at me. Seeing the light turned green, I started driving, trying to not make someone honk at me. Driving a few more minutes, I saw Kevin get out of a car in front of my house.

"Wha-"

I quickly pulled into the drive way and got out of the car.

"Kevin?"
