A few hours later
Sofia is curled up on the lush terracotta comforter, In the cozy Inn their waitress recommended.
Thankfully it was only a few streets over from the restaurant so they didn't have to walk far. However Bucky nearly had a stroke when Sofia told the nosy Inn keeper that they were a couple enjoying a spontaneous weekend get away, When she was probing them about why they waited so late in the night to find a place to sleep.
"Are you gonna make that face at me all night?" Sofia asks, Cocking her head to Bucky as he sits in the reading chair tucked between the window and the rustic bookshelf.
"I'm not making a face." He scrunches his face further.
"Sure you're not." She chuckles, "Listen, you should try to get some sleep while we're here. It'll be a long train ride to get to my contact in Sweden tomorrow, And I need you bright eyed incase any of your friends show up."
Truthfully, He'd love nothing more than to climb onto the comfortable looking bed. He hasn't had the luxury of sleeping in an actual bed since he was taken by Hydra, He's either been kept in a barren cell, Or frozen standing up in the cryo-chamber.
Unfortunately, He's yet to figure out the girl sitting in the middle of it. And there's nothing to say she isn't setting him up to be captured, Returned to Hydra for a handsome fee, Or god only knows what else she's has in store for him.
So, He lies.
"I'm not tired."
"You wouldn't bother lying if you could see the bags under your eyes." She quips, Smirking.
She knows Bucky doesn't trust her, But she doesn't mind.
When Clint first brought her and Natasha to Shield, She didn't trust him either. And now he's the closest thing to a father figure she's ever had.
"You must be tired too, Why don't you get some sleep?" Bucky asks, Eyeing her suspiciously.
"Because if I take my eyes off you, You're going to run again. And I really do not feel like rolling around with you in an alley for a fourth time."
"So what you're saying is, Even if I wanted to get some sleep, I'd have to do so with you staring at me the entire time?"
"As entertaining as that sounds, No," She laughs, "I'm going to watch tv."
"How do I know you won't slit my throat with those?" Bucky asks, Nodding in the direction of her Sai's resting on the nightstand.
If I was half this annoying when Da saved me I owe him an apology and a milkshake next time I see him. Sofia makes a mental note.
"Why would I go through all I have today, Just to kill you in your sleep?"
"Maybe you enjoyed the chase."
"If I did, Why would I want it to be over so soon?" She asks, grinning.
His tensed expression fades into a more relaxed look of confusion, Unsure of whether or not she's trying to flirt with him.
It's been over 70 years since he had such a normal question pop into his head.
"Get some sleep, I'll wake you up when it's time to leave." She reassures him, Grabbing the little plastic remote from the nightstand drawer and flipping on the 20 inch box shaped television.
Bucky stays seated in the chair, Watching her as she seemingly invests all her attention into whatever Finnish television show is playing.
Her messy blonde hair falling down to frame her gorgeous face, And the soft sound of her laughter easing him into a state relaxation where sleep soon claims him.
