The group has been on the ground for less than ten minutes, So much smoke fills the air from the debris, unchecked fires and utter destruction happening at every turn, that their lungs have begun to burn.

The only thing keeping them all standing upright is pure adrenaline, And perhaps a bit of disbelief.

How can you feel anything other than disbelief as you watch aliens fly down out of a wormhole to wreak havoc on Manhattan?

The screeching sound of metal scraping against metal calls the group of fours attention, As two Chitauri engage Clint and Steve in direct hand to hand, A third creature lands behind Natasha.

The Chitauri warrior attempts to stab her with it's glowing staff, Swiftly Natasha swipes her leg beneath the beasts own with all her strength and as it comes toppling down, Sofia meets the throat of the Chitauri with the blade of her right Sai.

Natasha peers up to meet her sisters eyes as she accepts her hand up, Despite the kind gesture however, the look in Sofia's eyes is anything but kind.

Overwhelmed by anger, Fighting to keep her rage at bay, Sofia remains silent as she struggles to rationalize within her own mind all the many reasons why she can't take on the entire army of Chitauri herself.

Her want— Her need to inflict her idea of retribution on the Chitauri threatening to overwrite both logic and reason.

Natasha turns her focus to Clint as he and Steve defeat the two creatures they'd been fighting, With a gentle nod of her head Clint turns to Sofia who stares on at the Chitauri emerging from the wormhole in the sky above the city.

A look all too familiar plastered on her bruised face. The look she always has on a mission before she snaps.

On every past mission, The two would attempt to calm Sofia. To remind her that killing is only to be used as a last resort, And that disarming the enemy and taking them for hope in gathering further intel is always the priority.

Unfortunately, This is no normal mission.

And with one more shared glance between the pair, It's clear both Clint and Natasha share the same fear. That there may only be one way to disarm this new breed of enemy.

An earth shattering roar erupts in the distance, A new wave of enemies raining down from the back of what can only be described as a half-metal beast.

The ground rumbles beneath their feet, Debris spraying off the sides of every building as the Chitari continue to terrorize innocent people who are all attempting to flee with their lives.

With a loud clatter and gust of wind, Thor slams to the ground surrounded by blinding white lightning mere feet from Steve, who wastes no time asking how he found them.

"What's the story upstairs?" Steve asks instead.

"The power surrounding the cube is impenetrable—" Thor replies, being cut off by Tony's voice coming through everyone's ear-comms.

"Thors right, We gotta deal with these guys."

"How do we do this?" Natasha asks, locking eyes with her baby sister. Fear damn near paralyzing her as she tries to memorize every detail of Sofia's hardened expression. She knows as well as Clint that Sofia has mentally checked out. She's always admired her sisters ability to seeming turn off her emotions in the field, But now, with the city crumbling to ash around them at every turn, It concerns her much more than anything else.

"As a Team." Steve answers without so much as a hint of hesitation.

"I have unfinished business with Loki." Thor speaks, His focus falling to Clint as he snips.
