Well things were awkward. So fucking awkward Carly wanted to leave. The girl thought tonight was the perfect time to tell Paxton about her offer to UCLA.

But it just wasn't the right time right now. The girl tried her best to look interested in this game they were playing. She was just counting down the hours to when she can leave to go home and eat her mom's homemade egg tarts.

"Hey." Parker said to the girl.

The girl smiled as he sat down next to her. "Hey."

"Um... how have you been?"

"Fine. You?"

"Good."

"You sure? You don't seem good."

Parker shook his head. "Just trying to adjust to the divorce parents' life."

Carly nodded. "I know I'm in no means the best person to give advice on divorced parents but if you ever need anyone to talk to, I'm here."

"Thanks Carls." Parker said, taking another big sip of the Malibu. "I don't wanna be a debby downer or anything I know or at least what I remembered you hated talking about college, but did you ever decide where you're going?"

Carly smiled. "Yeah um... I actually got an offer at UCLA."

Parker's eyes widened. "You did? That's great. I'm assuming you're taking it."

Carly hesitated a little but she nodded. "Yeah I think so."

"You don't seem sure."

"It's just..."

"Paxton?"

"How'd you know?"

Parker shrugged. "Anyone with eyes can see he is totally in love with you."

"I don't think that's..."

"Trust me Carls. If you look over you can clearly see how jealous he is that I'm even talking to you." Carly didn't believe the boy until she turned and saw the boy attentively looking at the pair. He wasn't even listening to what Trent was talking about. "Did you tell him yet?"

Carly shook her head. "No. I'm just scared you know?"

Parker nodded. "It'll definitely be hard but you gotta rip the band-aid off before it's too late."

As the girl stared at the boy, she couldn't help but think about everything. She knew there was always the option of ASU. She knew the boy has dreamed about going to that school.

Was she being selfish?

She hasn't been taking into consideration of the boy and his wants. If she truly wanted to be with Paxton, she needed to compromise. But the more she thought about it, the sadder she got.

She couldn't say no to UCLA.

If Paxton truly did love her, he would understand.

Paxton would understand why she chose UCLA.
