Chapter 14: Zoan

Seeing the princess dancing together with that man the guests at the party mutter among themselves. Spiteful words are all they could say. "This is unexpected. Never though you would go this far." Touka whisper. Jokingly he replied, "I kind of jump in without thinking." Touka giggle. "That is so like you." The guests watch on with spite.

 "That man is he the one.... why would the princess let him hold her like that. He is nothing more than a resident of the slums. To think someone like that would to be selected by the king himself to be a royal guard. He is probably doing it to for the money." 

Their comments echo off the walls of the room. Even with the music playing in the background, their words still could be heard by Stanley. Seeing the anger building up on Touka face, Stanley pulls her in closer. 

"Don't let it bother you. I fully came here knowing what I am going to get myself into. Please let just enjoy this little dance," he whispers. Touka calm down but yet she was still feeling angry. Miss nickelback looking up to the top wall of the ceiling saw the surveillance camera. She got a bad feeling about this and went to look for Shin. 

Shin on the other hand is getting flirt on by a few ladies. With him having no idea what is going on or how to response. The ladies find his expression cute. Grabbing him from behind to pull him away is Miss nickelback. Pulling him over to the corner she gave him a tray of food to take to Mio's room. She also warns him not to try and eat any for it or else there will be no food for him tomorrow. 

Shin heeding to her scary words take the food to Mio. He knocks on the door, but Mio shouted at him to go away. Don't bother me. Shin tried to open the door, but it was lock. Forcing the lock, Shin accidentally breaks it open using his superhuman strength. He enters her room to be scolded by Mio for breaking the lock. 

Shin places the food down on the bed for her. "Eat," he said. "I am not hungry," she replied. He tells her again to eat. Mio getting annoyed tell Shin that she will eat so get out. Thinking that he has leave when he walks out the door. Mio look to her monitor showing the party going on downstairs. Focusing on Stanley and Touka dancing.

Mio gets upset. "Of course, you would go to her first." She looks at her lifeless legs and starts beating on it with her hands. "Move damnit just move." Flashes of memories pops in her head with every hit. It was a past memory when Mio at a young age when the other kids would pity her when going out to the park. Because of her disabled legs the kids would play games that would be easy for her to do. And because she is the princess, they didn't want her to feel bad. 

At first, Mio thought that they were just being considerate. But looking back at it now. They just didn't want her to feel left out. It made Mio feel strange. Like she doesn't belong anywhere. But Hollin was different. He didn't care about my legs. He would play whatever I want. Racing, kickball, even climbing. Even after falling he never show me kindness or pity. He would tell me to get up, you can do it.

Because those on the bottom who never give up, will have the greatest comeback. That was his favorite quotes, and he would often say it to me whenever I feel down. But whenever he looks her way. I never feel angry or jealous. Because it was either her or his fault. It was mine. "

"Just move damnit just move!" she continues to scream sadly at her legs. "Are your legs dead?" Shin asks popping up out of nowhere. Spooking Mio, she asks "how long you have been there?" "What is wrong with them?" he asks looking directly at her legs. "Can't you see they are useless," she replied with a teary face. "Why?" Shin asks. "What it matters to you," she said. "Just leave me alone," she begs. "Why?" Shin asks lifting up one for her leg. Getting irritated Mio suddenly rip of her shirt to show him her back. 

"Here can you see it!?" she yells. Showing her back to him, Shin saw a purple rash running down her spine from the neck. "You probably wouldn't understand but. This is the purple rash disease. A strange disease that eats away the flesh on any part of your body. In my case. My spine. Because of this I am unable to walk for the rest of my life. They are no cure." Mio explain softly. To her surprise Shin lower his back to her.
