In reality, Axel doesn't talk that much. He talks a lot to Rosie and his moms when he's at home. But whenever he goes outside visiting family or when there's a few guests are over, he sometimes chokes up on his words.
When the twins are over, there are just some days he can't get himself to say anything around them. He usually just sends one of them a text and they'll read it out loud.
Even with Jupiter it took him a while to actually start speaking to them. He's really happy he can actually speak to them, but unfortunately there are a few day that words get stuck in his throat.
He really, really appreciates how patient everyone is with him.
