My school day went by really quick surprisingly. In Latin Jack reminded me of our 'meeting' after school, I wasn't looking forward to it but I knew I had to go. The rest of my classes flew by and before I knew it I was heading out to meet Jack Hemmings at the coffee shop.

I sighed as I grabbed my bag and trudged out of my dorm room. The walk was short, thank God, and soon I walked into the shop, greeted by the smell of coffee beans. I saw Jack sitting at a table for two all alone so I slowly walked over to him. I'll admit I was surprised he was here on time but that didn't change what I thought of him.

I pulled the open seat out from under the table and sat down, Jack looked from his phone and smiled at me. He began rummaging through his back pack and pulled out a notebook and laptop.

As he was setting everything up he looked at me, "So I can tell Latin isn't your favorite subject based on the way you look at me when I talk about it. I'll make this shirt and simple for you, I promise it will be painless." He said, trying to make me smile. I looked up at him, was he saying he'd do most of this project.

"So I was thinking we could focus more on the part of Aneas in battle and less on the part of the returning home from it. We could maybe put together...." He began but I zoned out. I was looking towards the door when I saw a familiar figure walk in and look around. His eyes caught mine and he smiled, walking towards us.

Jack could tell I wasn't listening and followed my eyes behind him, he saw Calum not far way and verbally groaned. He turned back to face me and was about to continue talking when we heard the annoying screech of the chair moving on the tile. Calum had taken the seat from different table and pulled it in to ours so he could sit in between us.

"So what are we talking about?" He asked like a child. I rolled my eyes and looked at Jack, my eyes begged him to continue his boring speech on Aneas and war. But he didn't instead he turned to Calum and frowned at him.

"We are actually trying to work on our Latin project together, Calum." He sighed, clearly annoyed with him already. Calum narrowed his eyes at Jack and turned to face me.

Calum smiled at me and said, "Hey El, I was wondering if we could go get pizza. I know this really good place a few blocks away." I was so confused with this boy, first he basically "cheated" on me and now he wants to go for dinner. Forget it, I'm not that desperate. Jack looked at me with sad eyes and I felt terrible.

"Actually Calum I'm working with Jack right now, maybe later. Also maybe you should leave, your going to distract us from our work." I said, suddenly gaining courage. Even Jack looked surprised at my request, he probably thought I wanted to ditch him. Calum looked at me in disbelief but slowly stood up and pushed his chair in.

"I'll just wait over there for you." He said simply. He walked to a nearby couch and pulled his phone out as plopped down. I turned my attention to Jack was already back to talking about our project. I could feel Calum's eyes on us every now and then but I ignored him.

A while into our talk, Calum was still sitting a few tables away, and Jack had made a funny joke. As we were both laughing I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. It was Calum.

From Calum:
That doesn't look like "working on a project"

I read his text and looked up at him, our eyes met and his expression did not look happy. I shrugged it off and went back to working with Jack.

Jack and I finished working at around 4:30 and had already planned our whole project out. I was satisfied with the work we had done and I surprisingly didn't hate Jack as much as I thought I would. Calum was still waiting for us to finish on the couch, he was plying on his phone. Jack was getting up and leaving so I walked over to Calum.

He looked up from his phone and sighed a bit before pulling himself off of the couch. "So how about that pizza now?" He said cheekily before grabbing my hand and rushing us out of the doors.

I trailed behind Calum as we walked to his car, when we finally got there he opened my door for me with a grin. I smiled and thanked him before stepping into his dirty car, there were old McDonalds containers and wrappers everywhere. It did smell nice though, I laughed as he got in. His face showed that he obviously didn't realize he needed to clean his car until he had someone in it.

Green Day was blasting through the speakers, we were both singing along and laughing if one of us got a word wrong. The pizza place wasn't too far away but the car ride was probably the most fun I've had in a while, that sounds sad. Basket Case came on and we were both shouting the words at each other, I couldn't stop smiling at him.

When we got to the parking lot of the small pizza place we stayed in the car until the end of the song. When it ended we both jumped out of the car and walked to the entrance, I could hear my stomach grumble powder and lieder with every step towards the door. We were seated at a small both in the back of the restaurant and given menus by a nice waiter.

"They have the most amazing Hawaiian pizza here." He said loudly, you could already see his mouth watering.

"That's disgusting, who likes pineapple on their pizza?" I joked. He gave me a death glare but we both ended up laughing at each other.

I hated the fact that I was having so much fun with Calum, I was supposed to hate him forever. Or at least that's what I thought in high school. I still don't feel good about his whole deal with seeing other girls but for right now I was content. Calum was making me happy right now and that's all that mattered to me.

We both ordered, he ordered his Hawaiian pizza and I ordered a plain pepperoni pizza. He made fun of me for having such a boring taste in food, but at least it wasn't pineapple and ham. Our conversation reached a million different topics, sometimes we were talking about superheroes, others we were talking about his music, and others we would be talking about school.

It didn't feel like one but deep down my conscience told me it was a date. When our pizza came the conversation died, it was replaced with the occasional "yum" or "oh my god, this is soo good." It still wasn't as awkward as I had pictures it in my mind.

This "date" has been one of my favorites so far and I wasn't sure if it was a real date. It was practically over, we were just getting the check.

That's when we heard the annoying voice of a girl behind me call, "Hey, Calum." I mentally rolled my eyes, I didn't want anything or anyone to ruin this night.

I looked behind me to see the girl I had seen earlier today in the bathrooms, the tall, gorgeous, brunette one. I sighed, great, just great...
