I woke up in my familiar, uncomfortable dorm room bed, I guess I took a nap. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes before turning over to see Abbie rushing around our room to get some things.
It's been a while since I've seen Abbie, not since the breakup. I stood up slowly and watched as she ran to our closet and pull down some of her shirts, and some of mine. When she turned around to see that I was awake she seemed surprised, she hurried to her bed and dropped all the cloths in a bag on her bed.
"Um long time no see.." I say awkwardly, I was really confused by the whole situation. She looked at me and crossed her arms over her chest.
"Yeah, I guess. How've you been?" She asked even though she didn't seem that interested in my answer.
"Yea, I've been good. So uh what are you doing?" I looked behind her to see a suitcase packed almost full with all of her belongings. I looked around the room to see it was almost bare, she had taken all of her things.
"Oh yeah! So I've been meaning to tell you, I'm moving dorms." She had a weird smirk on her face as she looked over at me.
"I haven't even seen you in almost a month and you're just switching rooms?" I asked, still trying to understand what was happening. I never knew where Abbie ran off to this month. She continued moving around the room, collecting random belongings to throw in her suitcase.
"Pretty much." She said shortly with her back to me. She made her way back to her bag before forcefully closing it up and picking it up off the bed. She rolled the large bag behind her as she walked towards the door, not even looking back before exiting it.
I walked to the doorway and called after her, "Goodbye then?" She simply waved her hand in the air before turning a corner and leaving for good.
I walked over to my bed, trying to take in what just happened. As I sat there with my head resting on my hands I heard someone burst through the door. I shot up to my feet only to be greeted with a very happy looking Mali. She looked at me before embracing me in a tight, bone crushing hug.
"Where the hell have you been? I've been blowing up your phone with no response!" She exclaims once she finally lets me out of the hug. I look over at my phone to see it hasn't been charged since last night. Well, that explains it.
"Well it's kind of a long story." I start, she sits on my bed and pats the space next to her. I sit down and tell her everything's that's happened in the last 24 hours, from the party to being thrown in jail to the talk with my parents. Mali was at the party but just like everyone else, she had found away to ditch before the cops got her.
Mali and I sat talking on my bed for hours, we talked about the party, school, music, anything that came to mind. By the time we were done talking it was 5pm, time for dinner.
We decided to go to the cute caffe she had taken me to months ago, I missed it so much. By the time we got there my phone had finally turned on again so I was finally able to read all my messages.
I had about 20 messages from Mali asking where I was, what I was doing, if I was still alive. I laughed as I read through all of them but she told me it was rude to make fun of her when she was just worried about me.
I had a few messages from my parents asking how I was doing. I quickly replied to them, not wanting them to worry again.
I scrolled through the rest of my messages, most of them being random, probably drunk texts from different people. But among the mass of drunk texts and random people there was one that really stuck out to me.
From Calum:
I'm sorryI looked at the text for a while before deciding what to say. If he wanted to talk to me, he should man up and do it in person.
To Calum:
Well, you should be.--------------------------------------
