Lifted a hand to stop,

The separation is wrecking
But memories I have plenty
Firstborn, talented, loving, dutiful
Every aspect, my Bonnie is beautiful
Beloved Sis, Papa's pride,
She's Mamma's confidante
New stage of life, you're now a debutante.
From an early baby to clever toddler,
In school and neighbourhood
You were really popular.
Academia you topped with ease
Music too was a breeze.
Baes and Bestie,
Your friends were fiesty
You were much loved
Your lunchbox was tasty!
About the world, you felt strongly
Quite a crusader, if someone's treated wrongly!
Always helpful, gently guiding
You're the one in whom
Many are confiding.
Every road has potholes n bumps
Fate, on us disappointment dumps
It is okay to fall, it's okay to cry
It isn't okay, however,
To give up, not try!
Every Sun must face the clouds
The loss is temporary, mist shrouds
Burnt away with determination and will
Aided by knowledge, shored up with skill
The mist clears, the Sun burns still!
You've taken a tumble
Kissed the ground
Through your experience
Courage and strength found
The future beckons

Only excitement,
No room for fear
The shores are new,
