After mum had gone, the guard who had dragged Tori away came back in to escort me to the train that will take us to London to prepare for the games. The light momentarily blinding me as we stepped out into the the bright sunlight. In the distance i saw Freddie, his pale body was so limp that he looked like a dead corpse. I was taken to the train station which was only a couple of hundred yards away from where we had been, and I was reuntied with Freddie.
"Freddie!!" I cried. I ran over to where he was, breaking away from the guards' tight grasp, flinging my arms around Freddies neck. He tried to grip onto me but his arms were so shaky that I was afraid that he'd fall over. I don't know how long we had been standing like this but eventually Marie came and tapped my shoulder, indicating that I should let go. Marie showed us where to get on and then dissappeared to the other end of the train. Freddie and I stepped onto the train and entered the cart. There was Seamus Mckenzie, our mentor. Seamus is 19 and he won the games two years ago, in the first games, so he knows what he's talking about.
"Ah, Orla, Freddie, have a seat and make yourself feel at home" he said, indicating two sofa chairs that were possitioned opposite him. Freddie and I sat down abediently, Seamus wasn't scary but he had a sense of authority about him that told you that he wasn't to be messed with.
"Now, tell me, what are your strengths, you know, things that you excell others at?" Seamus said. Hmm, that's a tricky one. What do I excell at? I thought I was coming to some sort of conclusion when Freddie pipes in with the answer.
"Orla's fast she can run 2500 metres in 10 minutes, I've seen" he said. That was true I suppose. Seamus looked impressed and nodded in consent in my general direction, I could tell that he could see much more potential in me, even at this early stage, and when you compared how I looked to Freddie in his condition, you could understand why Seamus would presume that. But that was the worst thing possible because, come the time that we are sent into the arena, gifts from possible sponsors will be coming my way instead of Freddie's, and right now, my only aim is to keep Freddie safe. I had to do something to show he's not just a weak little boy that's going to lose anyway.
"Freddie is small and he can dodge anything that could hit him lightning fast. He's strong and he can throw a mighty punch in a heartbeat"
"Oh really, Freddie?" Seamus said. Freddie nodded sheepishly.
"Well we can definetely work with that" Seamus said happily, leaning forward on his sofa and patting Freddie lightly on the shoulder. Seamus sat back down in his chair. "..and you darling" he said. no-one had ever called me darling before so i wasn't sure whether I liked it or not. A few minutes of silence followed but then Seamus looked up at the clock and announced that it was time for lunch.

I had real problems trying to come up with a name for Haymitch's character in this but I eventually settled for Seamus (obviously), I don't really know why I chose that name so it's pointless asking :P Stay cool guys and remember
