It was 3 days after the audition and nothing from JYP.

Haeun had come to terms with the fact she might had not got into the company after all, it was a hard company to please.

After her audition, Haeun was informed, if she had made it through, she would receive a letter within the next couple of days but her chances were slim. There were so many young talented girls that could have easily debuted on the spot.

The one thing Haeun wanted to do was forget about it, and so she did everything she could to not think of it.

Currently, the group of 5 were sat in their usual after school spot out in the park. With winter approaching, the sun had already started to set despite it being only 6pm.

Hyunjin and Changbin were messing about, throwing leaves at each other while Chan sat on the bench catching up on school work he had missed. A few feet from him, sat Felix and Haeun who were helplessly watching the pair with amused smiles.

It was quite scenic as the park was quiet with dark soon coming, Haeun turned her head to Felix who looked like a lovesick fool staring at Hyunjin.

The sight made her smile as she tapped Felix on his shoulder, making the older girl gain his attention.

"I'm going to sit with Chan, why don't you join them instead of admiring."

The younger laughed softly and shoved Haeun jokingly.

"Heyy~" He whined, a cheesy grin spreading across his freckled face.

To this, Haeun raised her eyebrow and moved away from the grinning idiot on the floor and sat to the left of Chan. As expected, Felix soon ran over to Hyunjin and Changbin, scooped a handful of leaves in his tiny hands and threw them at the boys.

Haeun turned her attention to Chan, glancing at the math paper he was so focused on. She noticed the way he tapped his pencil on the textbook with his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. It was cute.

"You need any help?" Haeun muttered, careful not to disturb his train of thought. Since their chat at the cafe, Haeun had acted more careful around Chan, not that she was afraid of pissing him of but more that she was unsure of him.

The older boy broke from his trance and placed down his tapping pencil, sparing the girl beside him a glance.

"No." Chan replied blandly, placing his head in his hands. To this, Haeun pulled the sheet of paper from under his head, despite his protests.

Quietly, her eyes darted around the sheet of paper as Chan watched her helplessly. She was accustomed to Chan's 'independence' as he likes to call it, even though it's pure stubbornness.

"Not to brag or anything, but I am the top of my maths class and this looks quite simple."

"Need to rub it in?" Chan groaned, slouching and resting his head on his right palm.

"Well looks like you don't need my help." She pursed her lips and slid the sheet back to Chan, a sparkle of knowing in her eyes.

The dark hair boy beside her look at the sheet bewildered, a look of frustration written on his features. After a moment of thought, Chan slid the sheet back to Haeun, a defeated look replacing the frustration.

"Please." His voice was just above a whisper, it didn't take a mind reader to realise that he was embarrassed for asking for help.

Haeun shook off the way her stomach fell back into knots at his voice and perked up. Grabbing the pencil that had been disregarded across the bench and gestured to the first question.

As she explained each question thoroughly, Chan couldn't help but take notice to how immersed Haeun was in making sure he understood her methods. It was almost admirable. The more Haeun went on about the paper, Chan found himself a bit surprised at how much more sense it made- even if his full attention wasn't on the sheet of hell in front of him.

"See? It's not that hard once you find a trick to the questions." Haeun smiled as Chan answered yet another question correctly.

Placing the pencil down, Chan laughed a bit out of disbelief.

"Maybe you're right."

"You need to stop underestimating yourself." The sentence made Chan halt to a stop as he glanced to the short haired girl. Was he?

Noticing the sudden look, Haeun quickly moved onto another topic. " So... I notice you really like music."

Chan placed the now finished maths paper into his bag and hummed in response.

" Doesn't everyone?" He asked not expecting an answer, placing his bag under the table carelessly.

"You'd be surprised." Her mind flashed to that night with her Mom. Let's just say, her Mom wasn't too happy about the whole 'audition' idea. "What type of music do you listen to?"

"Oh uhm..." He took a moment to think. "I kind of listen to a bit of everything- but I'm really interested in western music at the moment."

"Cool...cool." She muttered, kicking her feet together beneath the table, feeling a little awkward.

Chan cleared his throat, "So, uhm, what about you?" Before she could answer a familiar freckled boy jumped into their conversation, grinning from ear to ear. He was laughing at something Hyunjin had said as he tumbled into the seat in front of them.

"Hey guyss!" Felix slurred, drunk on happiness. Behind him approached Hyunjin as he wrapped his arms around the smaller boy, causing Felix to bubble back in laughter.

"Hey, lover-boys." Haeun teased, a small smile creeping on her lips. "What's up?"

As she spoke Changbin leaned against a nearby tree, watching silently.

"Well I'm about to head home and Hyunjin offered to walk me home-I didn't want to leave without telling you." Felix said in a rushed manner, his freckled cheeks turning a light shade of pink. It was a common occurrence for Hyunjin to walk Felix home.

"That's no problem. I'll be heading back as soon as Minho decides to show his face." Haeun messed with a strand of her hair, glancing to the park gates as her brother was expected to have arrived 40 minutes ago.

"He might not turn up for a while." Changbin spoke up, "He's probably with that Jisung kid."

"Jisung kid?" Haeun questioned, throwing a confused glance to Changbin. She hadn't heard anything about someone called 'Jisung' from Minho. Then again, Minho is stubborn and refuses to tell her anything most of the time.

"A name is the only thing I could get out of him- refuses to say anything else about it." Changbin stepped over to the group, a smug smirk on his face. " Speak of the devil."

They follow his eyes and see Minho walking in their direction, no one beside him. His steps grew slower as he approached the group, a suspicious look on his face. "What? Why are you looking at me like that."

"Well that's my cue to leave." Haeun swung her legs out from the bench and waved goodbye to the group. As she walked over to Minho, she grabbed him forcefully by the arm.

"Haeun! What the fuck!?" He yelled, desperately trying to pull his arm from her strong grasp but failing.

"You have a LOT of explaining to do."

And with that she dragged him out the park, leaving the 4 boys staring in bewilderment as she did.

Unbeknownst to them all, another set of eyes glared at the smaller girl. Hidden behind a tree stood a familiar face caked with makeup.

"At the cafe with Chan and now Minho..." The girl mumbled to herself, cocking her head to the side with a menacing smirk. "Wow she really does make me run for my money."

The mysterious girl pulled out a stick of designer red lipstick from her handbag and smeared it across her lips. She loosened the school tie from around her neck and dropped the lipstick carelessly back into her bag. With one last glance, the girl walked back outside the park through the back exit, a new idea fresh in her mind.
