I placed my dad's fishing sunglasses on as I quickly went out the door. My stomach grumbled from not having breakfast like I usually do, but today I was in a rush because I didn't want my old man to see my black eye that I got from Nathin. Besides, I'm sure one of my friends is bound to have some food that they're wiling to sacrifice.

Today my goal was to stay as far away from Destiny as possible.

1) Because if she saw my black eye, she was bound to beat the crap out of Nathin.

2) I loved her too much to make her feel guilty for hanging out with me.

3) I didn't want to put her at risk since Nathin asked her out, in other words, Nathin could easily use me as the bait to get Destiny to date him.

4) This was between me and Nathin, and I didn't want to get Destiny involved with this, so if I saw her today I would have to explain to her everything.

This is going to be hard, I thought to myself as I finally made it to the entrance of CloudsDale High school. I hid quickly behind a random pole when I spotted Destiny and her two cohorts chatting. I couldn't help myself. I still don't know why I spied on them, but I just had to find out what they were talking about. I made sure no one was watching me and dashed to the next pole, where I could hear them conversing with eachother.

"So... that's the drama between me, Nathin, and Sonic Thunder." I heard Destiny sniff, and I felt bad for her, "I just hope that no one got hurt when I left." Silence, but than a new voice.

"Des... I'm not too shocked that Nathin liked you all this time. It actually explains why he stood up for you and always talked about you even when you were friendless at the time and when he was dating Brittany."

"Yeah, Heather's right, Des," the new voice continued, "and if you don't like him, just say no and hang out with Sonic Thunder instead."

"But Nathin is a friend, Lylia, and nothing else," Des sounded frustrated now. Really frustrated, "What do you say to a guy friend that asked you out when you were friends with him for like forever?!"

"Just tell him no in a nice way," Lylia continued, "he'll understand."

"But he'll know why I'm saying no," Destiny continued sighing, "So that I can date Sonic Thunder, and he hates Sonic already enough!!!!"

"Destiny Hope! What are you afraid of?! What's the worse that can happen to Sonic Thunder and you if you refuse?!?!?!?!" Heather questioned. There was a long silence before Destiny replied quietly.

"You wouldn't understand!" She whispered cried. I couldn't help but peek what was going on. Destiny dropped her book bag and ran off, while one girl chased after Destiny and the other picked up Destiny's book bag.

Destiny's book bag was unzipped, so I wasn't too surprised to see that one of her books dropped out of it. The only thing that really surprised me was that the book was glowing and vibrating like crazy. What is that thing? The cohort of Destiny picked up the book and was about to open it when I ran out of my hiding place shouting "NOOOOOO!" I snatched the book out of her hand and stood there, shocked at what I just did.
