I watched the setting sun in the west as I double checked behind me to make sure that creep wasn't there anymore. Thankfully he wasn't.
I looked forward once again and checked the map to make sure I was on the right path to get to the Lost Temple of the Pharos. To make sure that I was, I took out my compass out of my pack and made sure I was going due south in Egypt. The Pointer pointed towards south, but than it started slowly turning counterclockwise.
Okay, that's not weird at all, I thought to myself as I looked around expecting to see somepony.
I looked back at the compass, and this time it was starting to speed up. I hastily dropped the compass onto the sand out of fear...
Wait! Not in fear but in pure shock of how this was happening here in the desert and not in Antartica, like it did before when that Feline built his fortress I top of that glacier. Not a very smart move.
The wind started to pick up and spiral around the compass, blowing my hat off of my head...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There was a knock at the door. Oh come on! I was getting to a good part. I looked at the clock on my night stand.
11:34 ᴘᴍ
Who's crazy enough to disturb me at a time like this? I shrugged it off and reread where I was, until another knock came at the door.
Ugh! I placed my bookmark in the spot I stopped at and sluggishly got out of bed. The knock came again, this time more urgent.
"I'M COMING!!!!!" I shouted, not in the best mood to deal with ponies who knock at ponies doors at 11:34 at night.
I approached the door and looked through the peep hole, to find my colt friend pacing the back and forth in front of my door.
Uh oh... He never does this unless it's an emergency.
I opened the door and Lance looked up, seeming out of focus as he stared at me.
"Lance, what in the world are you..."
"SHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!" He covered my mouth and looked around as if avoiding something.
"I'll explain on the way, but for now I need your help." He whispered quietly as he laid his eyes on me. I took his hoof out if my mouth and looked at him weirdly.
"What do you need help with?" I whispered asked him. He hesitated for a moment before replying, saying every word as if it were his last.
"To accompany me in the Ever free forest."
"Oh no, Lance, I'm sorry, but I'm not EVER going in the Ever free forest in the dark again unless its for a good reason!" I whispered shouted at him.
"It is for a good reason!" He explained.
I crossed my hooves and waited. He didn't seem to get the message, because he looked at me confused.
"I'm waiting."
"For what?!"
"An explanation!"
"I told you I'll explain on the way! Please just come with me?!?! Its a matter of life and death and saving a pony!!!!!"
I raised my eyebrow at him. He raised his eyebrow at me back.
"Do you trust me?"
"What does that have to do with anything?!" I whispered shouted at him, furiously.
