Chapter 21: Destiny's POV

Since our squad didn't have to do PT today, or the next three weeks, the ROTC teacher decided to get our uniforms suited for tomorrow... That is... If we're still in one piece after tonight.

I went to the bathroom to try on my new uniform, while I was deep in thought.

My squad knew, since I called them each individually, what was going on about Anthromorphia high... Except about the kidnapping of Sonic Thunder...

I still didn't have the guts to tell them! To tell them about our stupid argument and how I bailed on him out of my selfishness! I could still remember what happened this morning...

*Flashback*

After the whole introducing ourselves and all that good stuff, the human Lance ( or at least the Anthro Lance) handed me Sonic Thunder's phone.

Toby and him watched as I unlocked his phone (YES I KNOW HE'S PASSCODE!!!) and popped came on his phone a recording. Toby's eyes widened.

"I told you so!"

"Shut up, Toby!"

"Okay... I was just saying." He smiled sarcastically, and I shoved him playfully away from me. I pressed play the recording and listened silently. The first part of the recording was Tirek explaining his plan to Sonic, but than came the emotional part I wasn't expecting.

"Destiny Hope, if you get this and you've heard what Tirek is planning, all I'm telling to do is NOT to get involved with this! I don't want you to get hurt like you've been doing since you've gotten back!"

He paused and I heard him pant before he continued.

"I don't have much time to continue, so I'll make it short and sweet... I love you and I'm sorry that it had to be this way. I'm sorry for being a baby and arguing with you when I know that you won the argument anyhow. I hope to see you again... Wait! I KNOW THAT I WILL SEE YOU AGAIN!!!!! I will see you again, Des! I will not die!!! Again, I love you and hope you won't do anything stupid. Kisses and hugs..." And the recording stopped right there...

Anthro Lance and I came up with a plan after that, not bringing up the fact that Sonic Thunder was gone...

Of course, me being squad leader, I explained to my squad, when I got to school, about the plan. They didn't exactly agree with me, but they knew that it had to be done with some assistance from the experts.

Meanwhile, throughout the day, I wasn't acting like myself because of Sonic Thunder. I didn't tell anyone, not even Lylia and Heather, and I knew that I needed to tell someone, I just didn't know who! I didn't want to burden anyone else other than myself, but I knew that I couldn't handle this on my own.

Just feeling the burden that I was responsible for Tirek kidnapping Sonic Thunder made me want to curl up into a ball and just cry, but I knew that I had to stay strong for my squad, family, friends, and myself especially.

I placed on my boots, and looked at myself in the bathroom's mirror. I wore a navy blue Jacket, with navy blue pants, plus black combat boots. My hair was up in a bun, and my many badges that I was forced to wear gleamed under the bathroom light. I made sure my hat was on the right angle and that the pin of the Pegasus representing our school logo, was on correctly.
