When Trouble Comes: A sequel to "Through the other Dimension"

Chapter 9: Twilight Sparkle's POV

"TWILIGHT! TWILIGHT! TWILIGHT!" Rainbow Dash came flying into the throne room as I was reading "Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury. I'm always on a good part when someone rudely interrupts me!!!! I place my bookmark, which was a picture of me and Flash Sentry on our first date, on the page I'm currently in and got up from my throne.

"What is it, Rainbow?" I asked. She heaved a couple of breaths before talking.

"I was... at the... Tree of Harmony," she paused for a moment to catch her breath once again, "I saw an image there again." Ever since Applejack, Pinkie, Lance, and Rainbow have seen the quote-to-quote 'image' on the trunk of the tree, Lance left to the other dimension to help Destiny, and now Rainbow has been everyday going to the Tree of Harmony to see if another image would appear. I guess today was her lucky day that she saw this 'image.'

"Let's talk in the library about this," I continued as I led her to the library, "and also get you a drink of water."

We entered the library and seated ourselves, where we sat across from eachother, and I levitated a pitcher of water and two cups. I poured each one with water and gave one to Rainbow and one for myself. Rainbow took a long gulp of water and relaxed as she placed the cup down.

"Now, what did you see in this 'image?'" I asked as I took a sip of water.

"I saw Destiny getting beat up by a that jerk and his fellow followers," she continued, "That jerk was about to do something horrible to Des, but than she saved herself by doing her famous Death Stare that she got from her... you-know-who, anyways, so they freaked out and ran off, Lance, Sonic, and six other kids came along and helped Destiny. The last thing I saw was of Lance going after that... that Buckin' Bisquick." I was confused now.

"So?" I asked confused of what Rainbow wanted.

"So," she hesitated before continuing, "I want to go through the other dimension." I nearly choked on my water. I swallowed the water and started having a huge coughing fit. It took a couple of minutes to calm down before I could reply.

"Rainbow Dash, why do you want to go through the the other dimension?" I asked.

"ISNT IT OBVIOUS????!!!! TO HELP LANCE AND DESTINY STAND UP TO THAT GRASSHOLE!!!!" She looked like she was about to break down. Ever since her coltfriend left to go help Destiny, Rainbow has been a bit more emotional than usual. I sighed, because I knew she wouldn't like the answer I was about to say.

"Rainbow, I know you want to be with Lance but..."

"BUT WHAT, TWILIGHT?!"

"Lance is already unbalancing the two dimensions! There's a pony for every human in the other dimension so for all we know there could be two Lances in that dimension, and if you went, it would unbalance the two dimensions even more, and besides there is another you there and that would be just plain confusing if they saw two Rainbow Dashes there!!!!!"

"SO WHAT I DONT CARE," Rainbow continued with tears in her eyes, "ALL I JUST WANT TO DO IS BE WITH LANCE AND HELP OUT!!!!!!!!" Tears streamed down her face. "I FEEL SO HELPLESS!!!" She placed her head on the table and cried. I waited for few moments for Rainbow Dash to calm down, before I reassured her.

"Rainbow," I continued as I cleared my throat, "I know this isn't easy, but you are helping Lance out right now."

"How?" She sniffed and looked up at me.

"By staying here and supporting him, because if you went to the other dimension than that would mean that he would have to protect two mares," I stated. Rainbow nodded.

"You've got a good point but," she straightened herself and continued, "something bad is gonna happen to Lance, Twilight. I can feel deep down in my heart. He's going to need me Twi, he's gonna need me. Please?"
