When she opened up her eyes again, Shen Xi knew that she had gained a second chance.

The bed was so soft that she could sink all the way down. The room was fancier than she could ever imagine. The woman, whom she had only seen in pictures, was looking at her with concerns, asking about her wellbeing.

She felt very vicious all of a sudden.

All these years, this woman had never cared about her. She didn't care that she was mocked and insulted. Her grandmother had always told her that her mother had her reasons and that she didn't neglect her intentionally.

Yet the truth was nothing but a joke. This woman was living a life that was a hundred times better than that of hers. She never had to life a finger. She had luxurious rides that would take her places and assistances. She would buy luxurious items that Shen Xi could only drool over in a whim. She was living the highlights.

She just didn't remember her other daughter.

Shen Xi received all of her sister's past memories. This girl was spoiled rotten growing up. She lived inside of a honey jar. Her parents would hand her everything that she ever wanted and had always been praised by everyone else.

She was not alone, like her, with nobody to rely on.

With all of her sister's memories, Shen Xi could fool the couple should she so choose but she refused to do that.

She had suffered all these years so why should she make others happy?

Naturally, Mother and Father Shen could tell that their daughter's personality had changed drastically after her illness. They would try to comfort themselves at first by telling themselves that it was an aftereffect of the illness. Nevertheless, as time gone on and, seeing how she had gone from man to man along with her godawful grades at school, they could no longer lie to themselves.

What had happened was painful for the couple but they couldn't bring themselves to do anything about it. They had no heart to send her to a mental institution. Shen Xi lived her life in a carefree manner. She had no complain other than the fact that her pocket money had been reduced to almost none.

Time flew and she struggled through the semester in school. She didn't want to be around the couple so she didn't return home for the new year. Instead, she went overseas with her sister's savings.

Traveling overseas wasn't as fun as she had imagined. Shen Xi did not speak the local language and was stumped everywhere she sent. She regretted leaving town but, now knowing what she could do back home either, she chose to stay.

She was shopping one day when she ran into another Chinese tourist. Perhaps out of boredom, Shen Xi chitchatted with her. The woman knew of many fun places to go to and made Shen Xi's trip much more fun.

When the two became more familiar with each other, the woman introduced Shen Xi to her employer.

Rumor had it that this madam was the empress of some large corporation. Shen Xi had always looked up to wealthy people so she was extremely cautious when she met with the lady.

That madam was very pretty and poise. She had elegant mannerism. Shen Xi felt ashamed of herself in front of this lady. She looked up to her and started mimicking her.

Yet the madam looked for her for other reasons – she wanted to use her against her own daughter-in-law.

Her daughter-in-law was Cheng Huan, Shen Xi's half-sister.

Shen Xi felt peculiar when she heard her original name from someone else. She found it interesting listening to the madam talking about news on her own body. The madam bashed "Cheng Huan" for almost an hour.
