"She can still email Professor Zahn I think." Noelle stated. The two girls looked at each other for a second before Maddie nodded and continued to do her work.

[ 3 : 4 8 pm ]

Maddie and Noelle got their hand written essays out as professor Zahn entered the room.
"Good afternoon my students how are we today?" the professor started to which he received some "good"s and "okay"s. He looked up for attendance as he sat in his chair. "Okay so, we're missing Janelle, Mathew and Maya" he trailed off as he clicked some buttons on his keyboard.

About five minutes later he stood up and took everyone's papers. "So as you all know I assigned you all to research some ancient relics" he began as everyone stayed quiet and listened. "Does anyone have a clue as to why.?" He stopped walking and looked around. "Anyone?" He repeated before going back to the front.

Professor Zahn grabbed the chalk and wrote a couple letters on the board. UCF. "What's UCF?" Maddie thought to herself as she stared at the board. She looked to her right to an also clueless Noelle. She was no help in this for sure.

The professor gave a moment to the class to try and analyze the letters but miserably failed, so he spelled out the meaning of the letters. University of Central Florida. The class stared in confusion.

"The University of Central Florida ." Professor Zahn began. "Has decided to partner with us to find three ancient relics that had not yet been found." He continued as the class quietly listened. "We have decided to take this opportunity to put the skills you have learned from this class into real life." Mr Zahn erased the board and drew two lines, there being a
number between each.

"Since you all are over the age of twenty, we will send you off in pairs to meet two others from the UCF. From then on you will use your knowledge to track down the item that had been assigned to you. Now don't worry about costs, or hotels, or how you are going to get from place to place. We are giving each group $10,000 (because wattpad logic 🤪🤪 and also because these two colleges are crazy rich) if needed of course. Depending on the team you are on you will be assigned a different object." He stopped to catch his breath. Maddie looked over at Noelle who took out her phone and started texting her.

As Noelle and Maddie texted the professor had explained how and where they will arrive at their destination. He explained how they will meet their partners and stay at a hotel for about 2-4 months, that's how much time they have to find the item. Of course the professor will be coming along but he will be hanging with another group with is more behind to help them.

There were an odd number of people in the class so Maddie didn't get a partner from her college. Her group was going to get only three people sadly since Noelle was paired with Jace, one of the preppy girls. Professor Zahn had not yet given the names of who they will be staying with tho. They will be getting them the day they leave.

Maddie was sitting at the dinner table with her mother, but it was silent so she tried to strike the news. "So mom, our archeology class is going for a trip". That had caught her mothers attention.

"What kind of trip? And for how long?" She excitedly asked. "It's more like an expedition, we have to use the knowledge they taught us and find whatever they're telling us to. And the trip is two to four months long." That earned a concerned look from her mother. "Don't worry the professor said the hotel costs are all paid and we get $10,000 to spend on the trip."

Her mother stared at her for a good minute before she started to speak again. "So where did you get assigned to go and with who?" She asked. "Well I got put into team 3, but since we only had 5 people who could qualify, Im paired with three other people from Florida" she answered.

Her mother smiled. "I'm so proud that you qualified for this and I really do hope you have fun. When are you leaving?" She asked whist taking their dishes and putting them in the sink. "We leave in a week" Maddie responded.

Good thing they had a week. This gave Maddie enough time to do extra work ahead so she didn't have any absent work she needed to make up. "Thank you mom for the dinner, it was great." Maddie said as she walked upstairs to her room.

She also needed to do some research on her item. It was Saint Mary II's lost crown. All she new was that it was lost somewhere in the Croatoan islands. She'd meet up with her team mates at the airport to head to the islands. "These next couple months are going to be a hassle" Maddie said to herself as she opened her laptop to do some research.

Yooooo second chapter is done!! I need some inspo and some more ideas to put into this fic because I'm running out quick lol. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter I'll prolly try and upload the next chapter tomorrow or something lmfao
