Scarlet was going through her stuffed animals, tossing the unwanted ones in cardboard box. Her fire truck red hair was pulled into a tight ponytail as her blue eyes happily examined an old pink bunny. It was small with a sheer white ribbon around its neck. Her father gave it to her - right before he left for a college student.
"Asshole," she scolded.
Tossing the bunny in the unwanted box, she picked up another. It was a big teddy bear. It was dark brown with a heart on its stomach as it said, "I miss you." Eddie Munson gave that to her before she left in middle school. She smiled. This one was worth keeping.
"I'll see you soon, Munson," she mumbled to it.
Scarlet gently placed it in her wanted box and saw the rest of the stuffed animals. They were pink. God, her taste changed. She despised the color now. She had over twenty that she was keeping anyways. It wasn't going to bother her much. Her mother knocked on her door with a small smile.
"Hon, we have to leave in a few minutes."
"Okay, mom! Just finishing up!"
Her mother looked in her wanted box and picked up the bear Munson gifted her. Smiling, her mother turned it for Scarlet to see.
"I remember when Eddie gave this to you. He was such a sweet kid. I wonder how is he now."
"Yeah, well, who knows. He might not remember me or want to be friends anymore so," Scarlet spoke.
She took the bear from her mother and put it back in the box while her mother took all the unwanted stuffed animals and made sure they were gifted to the neighborhood kids. Scarlet took her last box out to the car as her mother waited for her. She took one last look at the house that gave her absolute hell - and flipped it off.
"Fuck you, house! Thanks for ridding me of my father, giving my mother hell, and giving me a nightmare of a lifetime! I will not miss you!"
"Scarlet, get in the car before someone's child chooses to copy you."
Scarlet chuckled and got in the car, wishing Hawkins was only seconds away. Nevada was a nightmare. Thank god they were leaving.

Scarlet was sitting at her old house in Hawkins, seeing everyone as how she last saw them. Eddie, Nancy, Jonathan, and Steve all waiting for her to come out, but lightning struck and there was a shadow in the sky. It was a big dark creature hovering over all of Hawkins. Another lightning cracked in the sky and her friends were missing and then there was the earthquake.
Scarlet woke to her mother shaking her. They just passed the Welcome sign to Hawkins. Scarlet watched everything pass by and she smiled brightly. She saw Eddie's trailer, where the Byers used to live (Nancy sent letters,) and where they were going to live which was right next door to the Wheelers. Nancy just stepped out and saw Scarlet pulling in. She couldn't contain her excitement and jumped out before the car fully stopped.
"Nancy!"
"Scar!"
They hugged and laughed as if nothing happened. They sent photos back and forth to keep them updated. She even sent one of Eddie which made Scarlet swoon over him. Nancy kept that a secret from him.
"Thank god you're back!"
"Right?! I mean, a lot has changed about me obviously, but..."
"Still same old, same old," Nancy smiled. "Come over later, okay? You know, after you get settled and all."
"Of course! Definitely! Maybe I can see if Eddie still wants to meet up too," Scarlet thought aloud.
"He's got DND tonight so probably not. Mike is in the club," Nancy explained.
"Oh, well, then maybe another time."
Scarlet grabbed a few boxes as the movers truck pulled up. She examined all the rooms before she picked a room. They were all the same size anyways. Opening the blinds, she unlocked the windows and opened them. Fresh air was better in her opinion. The movers asked where she wanted her desk and she requested it against the wall next to her door. Her bed came next but she liked it on the other side, opposite of her desk. After everything was placed in its spot, Scarlet fell back on her bed. Her mom went out to buy new bed sheets and she begged not to buy any girl bedding for her. Her mother understood.
Scarlet got up and looked out the window and saw Eddie walk up to the Wheelers front door. Her eyes went wide as she rushed downstairs.
"Eddie!"
He looked over in confusion only to see a random girl running at him. Scarlet jumped on him, hugging him tightly as he groaned and laughed.
"I'm sorry, Ed," she laughed.
"Scarlet?" Eddie wondered. "Shit, is that you?! What'd you do to your hair!?"
"I did some major upgrading," she chuckled.
She stood up and leant a hand. Eddie took it as she helped him to his feet. He examined her for a moment, seeing how short she was. She seemed about five foot three - ish. After a bit, he realized how cute she became which made him blush.
"I'm glad your back," he smiled. "I missed you."
"Ditto, Munson," she smiled brightly.
"I named my DND club the name you suggested. It's pretty badass."
"You did?! That's awesome!! I wish I could see you guys in action but I promised Nancy already I'd come over."
Eddie pretended that his heart was shot, but only leaned back a little. She laughed. Eddie couldn't stop. She had the cutest laugh. He wanted to kiss her, tell her how gorgeous she is, and just spend the night being with her. Mike threw open the door and saw the obvious chemistry.
"Okay, gross. Scarlet, it's good to see you, welcome back. Eddie, seriously? Let's just go," he stated.
"See you later, Scar?"
"Yeah," she smiled. "Definitely."
Eddie smiled and followed Mike to his van. Nancy stood next to Scarlet, watching how she was yearning for her best friend. She had to admit it; Eddie was smoking hot.
"Falling in love?"
"Shut it, Nancy," Scarlet whispered.
Nancy laughed and let her inside.

"Scarlet is back!" Eddie cried out happily.
"You seem to be in love with her," Mike stated.
"What? No. She's just my best friend," Eddie lied.
"Dude, cut the bullshit! I saw how you looked at her! You definitely like her and the chemistry between you two is insane, but right now, we have a campaign to worry about."
Eddie glanced at Mike and back to the road. Little shit was constantly right about the obvious. He hadn't seen Scarlet since they were fourteen. He remembered her playing tag with him before she left and how she cried because she was scared.
"Eddie, I'm scared."
"Scar, there's nothing to be scared of. I'm still going to be your best friend when you get back. Promise."
"Pinkie promise?"
"Always."
Mike snapped his fingers in front of Eddie and made him come back to reality. He complained how Eddie didn't listen to his suggestions for the campaign but Eddie refused to listen because, at the moment, it didn't matter. He was close to postponing Hellfire to be with her.

"How was Nevada?"
"Shitty," Scarlet admitted. "Dad cheated on mom with a college bitch, mom tried dating again but got assholes, I found dad and cursed him out."
"As you should."
"Three of my ex's were manipulative and abusive so I started to take no shit. I just - I'm glad to be back in Hawkins."
Nancy smiled and handed her a soda. They sat at the kitchen island in silence for a while until her father came through.
"Just keep bringing in delinquents, don't you, Nancy?"
"Do you not remember Scarlet?"
Her father takes one moment to examine Scarlet as she waves at him. He scoffed, grabbed his coffee and returned to the living room without another word.
"He's still so weird," Scarlet laughed.
"He is and I don't understand why!" Nancy laughed.
They talked for hours and hours until Mike came back home from Hellfire. It was almost ten. Cursing, Scarlet said her goodbyes and ran out the front door to see Eddie getting back in his van. She quickly waved as she ran to her house.
"Scarlet, wait up!"
"Sorry, Eddie! Moms gonna kill me!"
Eddie ran after her and grabbed her wrist just in time.
"Damn, wait up," he laughed. "Wanna hang out tomorrow? You and me?"
"Maybe? I don't know. I might be busy trying to look for a job and get settled more, but maybe," she smiled.
"Okay, yeah," he smiled.
Her mom came out and was about to start twenty questions when she saw Eddie. Smiling, she offered him to come inside but he declined.
"It was good to see you, Eddie," her mom smiled.
"Yeah, you too, Mrs Williams."
"Just miss. The asshole left," Scarlet corrected. "I'll explain another time."
Eddie nodded and waved bye, heading to his van. Scarlet closed the door and leaned against it a moment or two while her mother spoke.
"I was thinking that we could watch a movie. Oh, by the way, your supper is on the table."
Scarlet giggled and rushed upstairs to watch Eddie drive off. He noticed her and smiled.
"Scarlet has to be mine," he whispered.
