Wow! I hadn't thought about Liam in years. How could I forget? It was the beginning of the evil that he became and when I saw him use AM for the first time. Liam was a High School bully, a werewolf who was just trying to make a name for himself. However, it was his methods that didn't sit well with Seth. Yes, it's hard to believe that Seth was once good and had his younger siblings' back.
Anyway, it was one day, Liam didn't show up for school to do his usual rituals on me and I knew right away that Seth had something to do with it. I searched for Seth and found him at our usual spot at a park where he'd Liam tied up.
"Look, Seth, I'm sorry," I heard Liam say, I watched them from a tree. "I didn't know he was your brother. Please, just let me go, man. I promise I won't hurt him again."
Seth just gave him a loud humph and took out a syringe with the chemical inside. "Is that?" Liam asked, looking at the syringe with wide and feared eyes on his face.
Seth nodded as he leaned close to his neck and injected the syringe deep, poor Liam didn't have a chance with AM quickly taking effect and separating his human form from his wolf. Seth absorbed Liam's wolf without a problem and as for Liam, well, he raised his head up as Seth lifted his finger. My eyes widened with fear.
"Now, what to do with you?" My brother asked, looking at the zombie-like Liam. "Well, I can't waste time, Liam, pretty soon this will return to you, and you are a danger to society, to my brother, I can't let you have your powers back, but I don't know what to do with you." He crossed his arms and tapped one of his fingers on his elbow. He moans, guessing he heard Liam's wolf trying to convince him to let Liam go. Oh, Seth let him go alright, he had Liam walk over to the bridge close by where at the bottom is running river-water and then he ordered him to jump. Seth was never the same after that.
It was one of the reasons, dad, the rest of the royal family and I took that heavy decision about exiling him to the Dark Woods. I mean he'd already had an idea that all humans should be kept as pets. It would only be a matter of time he starts moving on them. Liam was just a scapegoat for his master plan to work.
I shook my head looking around as I was back at the station, and writing on the board when I was having that memory. Brain walked in with, yet, another stack of files. By this time, we have the room filled with them. Each one is about our 15 victims, each was like Liam. All were young and with livelihood taken away. Now the question is, is this Seth's doing?
I asked Brian to bring the files in, to see if any of the victims have a connection. Finding that will be like finding a needle in a haystack, but getting down will answer that and Why are they reappearing all over the city.
"I still don't know what we are looking for in these files, Damion?" Brain asked, sorting each file.
"That puncture hole has me puzzled and I was curious if any of the other victims have the same hole as our Jane Doe."
"Well, in that case, we should properly order take out and blood supply. This could be a long night," I turned to look at him. I wondered if that was sarcasm or if he's serious about "the blood supply thing."
"I'm kidding," Brian said, turning around with a smile on his face. I was not impressed with that joke. It's not easy being just one of the species and keeping the other one hidden from the world. What I'm worried about is my other side being in control. It's an uptight battle within me. A legacy, Seth left behind before he was put in prison, because he too was a vampire hybrid, an evil one.
"Come on, Damion, I was just kidding," Brian continued as I gave him my "annoyed" stares as he walked towards the door and opened it. "Geez, tough crowd."
