Damion Jones

The rest of the night, I watched Sara sleeping soundly in her bed and had a smile on my face. It's something I used to do, especially when I'm around her. It's like I was her own special guardian. I just couldn't believe that this young lady is my little Sara.

"Gosh, I can't believe I miss so much," I whispered, not wanting to wake her up. Ariana was standing next to me and having a smile of her own. She was hugging me from behind and around my stomach. She later, snuggling her head against my back. Then I felt her tugs me away from the doorway. I chuckled as she continued until we both landed at a nearby sofa.

"You're here, now," She whispered to my ear, keeping me from getting up and later licking it. I heard her give out her little witch laugh and at the same made me grossed out.

Seriously? I rubbed my ear with my shirt. She giggled as I looked at her with my annoyed stare. I mean she knows I hate it.

"Ariana," I said, between my teeth. "What the heck?!"

"Oh come on, hon, let's have some fun," she said, slowly getting close to me while unbuttoning her shirt. I slowly back up to a nearby wall. "It's been so long."

"I'm assuming you're in heat, otherwise you wouldn't act like this," I said, as she got super close. So close as she places my hands on my chest from underneath my shirt and pulls it up to get over my head as she kisses it and climbs up. Thank the Goddess I didn't wear a tux. I can feel her getting close to my face, considering I can feel her lips on my neck by then I started to breathe heavily.

I returned a kiss on her neck and felt something, like something had turned on my other side, I could feel him being active and taking over. Out of nowhere, I went out of control with Ariana now that "he" took over. I didn't know what came over me, considering I had this massive amount of energy. It was "his" energy. Ariana noticed and tried to keep up with me.

...

We stopped to catch our breaths by the time we were finished, and found ourselves on Ariana's bed with the blanket over us. She was on my chest completely naked. At least I think she is, and I was just in my boxers.

"All this time, and I still can't keep up with you," she said. I chuckled at the idea.

"If only," I said. Wrapping my right arm around her and gently moving her to the side. "The day you become faster than a vampire, I'll be impressed."

She giggled and turned to the side to see me. She smiled and moved her hand to touch my cheek. I smiled back.

...

For the rest of the night, I stood in the middle of the living room looking around and seeing what the girls did to make this place home. I don't mind the loneliness of the night. I'm used to it, considering back in the city it was just as quiet as I would be annoyed by hearing the honking of the cars and the yelling of the citizens. Here it is quiet, too quiet. The only thing I'm hearing are the sounds of crickets and a hoot of a nearby owl. It was peaceful and calm.

It was almost like being in a dream until the silence ended with some footsteps hitting the leaves. It was faint, but I could still hear it even with the window closed. I could hear everything, considering we vampires have very good hearing. I walked out of the house while locking the door behind me. I know I have been here for about two hours, but I just couldn't help it. I've become very protective of my girls.

I followed the sound until I reached the edge of a nearby group of trees. I mean the Silverbacks' territory stretches deep into the forest and it'll be hard to see who's out there. Even if it's just other Supernaturals trying to get hold of it. Still, I just looked amongst the trees to try and catch a glimpse of whoever it was that made those footsteps.

It could be or it could not be another group of supernaturals trying to grab this territory? I don't think so, this feels familiar somehow, and personal. I stood still for another minute to listen.

"Damion?" I suddenly heard, and turned around to see Bill standing with his arms behind his back to appear large and strong. I mean he is the Alpha of a pack now, his appearance means everything around here. He'd changed quite drastically from having a wimpy body to a fully equipped and muscular body. I could see his abs popping from his steampunk military-like outfit. You can hardly tell because of his long overcoat, giving them cover. "So it is you that I saw, coming out of the girls safehouse and darting to the woods. I don't mind it, but I am curious to know why?"

"I thought I heard something, so I figured I should scout things out."

"Perhaps, you're hearing other groups trying to grab hold of our territory, they are always seeking things out, trying to see our weakness. It's quite common around here because of the laws set by the founders. You, of all people, should know that."

"Yes, I am aware," I said, sounding so annoyed. "However, this feels both familiar and personal."

"I see," he said, seeming to understand what I was talking about, considering we heard the footsteps again. "A complete stranger upon us, well, I appreciate what you are doing here, Damion, but please return to the girls. I'll get the guards and check it out!"

I nodded as I watched him whistle to two nearby guards, getting their attention and heading towards the direction of the footsteps.

...

I did what Bill ordered me to do and returned to the girls' Safehouse. I tried to be as quiet as I could. They are, after all, fast asleep and who am I to wake them from their dreams. Besides, I loved watching them sleep and being their guardian of the night is a bonus for me. And as their guardian, it is my duty to keep them safe. I'm not just a guardian of the city. I don't know what I would do, if any harm is put onto my girls. Yet, I can't help, but to wonder who is out there.

The next morning, I watched Sara walking with her friends to school and it made me smile. Wow, I can't believe how big she has grown, and according to Ariana, she is doing well with her grades. In fact, being at Angel Meadows had improved her in many things than being in Shadow Falls. I'm so proud of her.

My friends and I arrived at Angel Meadows. It's my second year in high school. When I arrived at the Safehouse, I didn't think I would be able to have a normal school year with everything happening. But uncle Bill made sure that I would have some normal life. Even though nothing about me is normal. When I was young I found out that I had more power than any other supernatural. With my mom being a witch and daddy being a vampire I inherit both their abilities: Flying, creating spells, and being able to manipulate magic. And yes, the need for blood. Yet, it wasn't the only thing. Turns out that I also inherit my dad's other half. Yes, I have the blood of an Angel.

Still, no one knows about it apart from my parents, my aunt Athena and my uncle Bill. Not even my mate, Erick knows about it. Speaking of my mate, Erick, I saw him walking through the halls when I started to head towards him.

"Erick, wait up," I said,he turned and smiled at me.

"Hey, love," he said, wrapping his arm around me and leaning in to kiss on my forehead. It made me giggle.

We were about to go to our first class when we felt this painful jolt. We crouched down to the floor feeling the pain grow. Damn, I forgot that the school has a spell that can get its students to switch their supernatural abilities with another. Crap, Erick will find out about me! I can't do anything about it, considering the spell has chosen us this time. It normally picks a pair of students and it happens at any given moment. It's just how it works. But man, no one mentions how painful this switch is, right now.
