its been a while my babies

Ayla

It had been a couple days since the choking mishap and my voice and throat was slowly getting better.

I could sorta speak now, it was quiet but my voice was there.

"That part's too long, get behind his ears." Noah piped up over FaceTime as I attempted giving Sundae a trim on her fur.

I stuck my tongue out in concentration.

"What about now?" I listened to his low hum of approval. His eyes moved across the screen.

"Perfect now all you need is a bow." He smiled.

"I should've bought one." I cursed.

"It's a shame." Noah spoke sarcastically.

There was a silence as I brought my phone and Sundae back into my room.

"How's your throat?" He asked, real concern lacing his voice.

"Better, just a little sore now." I truthfully spoke.

I've been icing my neck every night in hopes for the bruise to disappear faster. The color has evened out to a bit reddish yellow but still pretty visible.

Although it has been fading meaning it's easier to use makeup to cover it up.

Which is a plus.

Noah's class was taking a three night trip to New York, so I'd be without him for a bit.

"Have everything all packed?" I asked him, petting Sundae's damp fur.

"Yup, dad's driving me to the airport. While I'm gone you have his number, just call him if anything happens, okay?" He told him.

"Oh! And I forgot to tell you, he's gonna pick you up tomorrow at three to get your stitches out."

Oh yeah, my stitches.

"Thanks for letting me know."

"I gotta go now, love you."

"Love you too." I smiled.

The phone hung up as I tossed it across the room.

I sighed staring at sundae.

"Stop looking at me like that! You're making me feel guilty. Stop-" I picked her up and spun her around. She got on her feet and turned herself back around.

"I hate you."

She meowed.

"I'm sorry sundae! I love you and I could never hate you, I'm sorry." I quickly apologized while kissing her face.

Making sure my dad was sound asleep I placed the blanket over his body and kissed his forehead.

Scurrying over to the front door while pushing it open. I noticed Matteo's car before getting in. I heard the doors unlock as I neared the car.
