We go into Will's room "Jesus what the hell was that, what the hell was that"Steve exclaimed
"Shut up"We all exclaim at him, the monster screeches. I pointed my gun ready to shoot at any moment, panting and panicked. The electricity jolts.
"Do you hear anything"I ask
"No"Jonathan responds. We slowly walk out Jonathan has the bat with the nails sticking out of it while Nancy and I had guns. The air is tense and my breath is panicked. Steve starts mutterin and panicking then picks up the phone
"Are you insane? It's going to come back! So you need to leave. Right now."Nancy says firmly as she gets Steve out the front door as he panicked to get into his car. The electricity around as flickers
"Where is it"Nancy asks
"Come on, you son of a bitch"Jonathan says
"You see it"I question
"No where-"Nancy panics. The light fucker until it comes to a stop it's all off. I turn around to see it right behind Jonathan, it grabs him.
"Jonathan"We yell. Nancy and I start shooting. It stands up and looks at us, I pull Nancy behind me a bit in a protective manner. She was suddenly out when Steve came out of nowhere and starts hitting it with the bat
"Steve?"Nancy exclaims
"He's in the trap"Steve exclaims. I grab the lighter and throw it, setting it on fire.
"Get back,"Jonathan says. Then starts extinguishing . We start coughing from the smoke.
"Where'd it go"
"It has to be dead"
The lights start to turn on well the christmas lights, we follow
"Mom?" "Aunt Joyce?"Jonathan and I say at the same time
"Is that you?"Jonthan asks. We follow the light
"Where's it going?"Nancy asks
"I don't think that's the monster,"Jonathan says. We sat down after that big catastrophe.
"You know what Harrington you're not as bad as I thought you were"I say after the silence.
"Yeah, I could say the same, Byers,"Steve replied.
That night I was at the hospital with Jonathan and Joyce as they had found Will and I was so thankful. We sat by his bed waiting for him to awake. He stirs awake and looks at us, a smile comes to my face.
"Hey"Joyce says softly
"Where...where am I"Will asks
"You're home"Jonathan says
"You're home now"I tell him
"You're safe"Jonthan adds
"Jonathan"Will says
"Yeah it me buddy"Jonathan says happily
"Dani"Will says, looking at me next
"We missed you Will"I told him, I was so happy to have him home now. I missed him so much. Jonathan pulls up the box
"We brought you some stuff so you don't get bored in here"I tell him
"I made a new mixtape with the help of Dani. There's some stuff on there I think you really might like"Jonathan says. Tears fell down my face of happiness. I walked out as well. Mike, Dustin and Lucas all ran to the room telling him all about it. I hug Nancy tightly.
"I know you miss Barb"I whisper, she nods.
"I'm happy that Will's awake though"She tells me. I look over at Steve and smile to which he returns.
1 month later, I go with Jonathan to get Will from his campaign at the Wheeler's house
"Jeez, what's that smell? Have you guys been playing games all day, or just farting?"Jonathan says
"Oh, that's just Dustin. He farted. Dustin farted." Lucas says, blowing a raspberry. I laugh softly
"Okay."
"Dustin farted."Lucas continued
" Very mature, Lucas."I laugh as Lucas blows another raspberry
"Shut up."Dustin says
"Come on."Jonathan says
"Bye, guys."Will says, walking around to us
"Bye, Will."Dustin says
"See you, Will."Mike says
"So, you have fun? "I ask him
"Yeah."Will responded
"Hey, boys.Hey Dani"Mrs.Wheeler greets
"Hey, Mrs.Wheeler."We all greet
"Hey, wish your mom a merry Christmas for me, okay?"Mrs.Wheeler asks
"Yeah."Jonathan says.
"Did you guys win?"Jonathan asks
"Yeah"Will responds, excitingly
"Awesome"I say,smiling at him, Nancy calls out for Jonathan.
I see Steve there as well
"Hey uh Dani"Steve says, somewhat a bit awkwardly.
"Hey Harrington"I say turning around to face him properly.
He hands me this small wrapped present
"Oh thanks Steve, oh uh wait a moment"I say going into pocket
"I'm sorry I didn't have a chance to wrap it"I tell him sheepishly. It was the mixtape that I played in his car that one time. I pull him into a quick hug and followJonathan out
"Alright buckle up"Jonathon says, I let Will sit in the front with his brother.
"Can I open it?"Will asks
"Yeah"
"Wow that's pretty cool"Will says
"Yeah, pretty cool,"Jonathon says, looking at the camera that Nancy got him. I was curious as to what Steve got me. I open it slowly to see a walkman, a newer model one to the one I had last year. He broke my walkman last year but with it was the mixtape he played in the first place that night saying 'get used to it you're gonna be hearing it a lot' I laugh to myself a bit at the gift. We drove off. I stayed with the Byers as dad was at the police christmas party and mom was on a business trip like always. Jonathan was testing his new camera while I sat on the floor by the coffee table drawing while listening to my walkman. We all sit at the table for dinner
"Thanks Joyce for having me here"I tell her
"Oh no problem Dani, you're family"Joyce tells me. Will was telling us all about his dungeons and Dragons games. I felt so at home here.
