Third person's POV

Soojin and Shuhua were the only ones left at home. Yixing went to the office right after breakfast, and Hyewon went to meet some of her old friends.

<<You're dating someone?>> Soojin asked while doing the dishes.

Shuhua, who was cleaning the table, suddenly stopped right after she heard the question of the older girl.

<<If this is because of what Hyewon said, don't mind it. She was just teasing me.>> The Taiwanese said laughing embarassed.

<<Well, I don't think there's something wrong if you date someone right?>> Soojin asked.

<<Yeah of course, I'm just not ready.>> Shuhua said which caused Soojin to stop.

"Is it beacuse she still feels something for me?" Soojin thought deep inside.

<<Can I ask you why?>> Soojin asked after her full attention was on Shuhua.

<<I don't think I'm ready to fall in love again, also because back in the Philippines I was just focusing on studying so.. yeah.>> Shuhua said nonchalantly.

<<Yeah, makes sense. I hope you find the right person in the future.>> Soojin lastly said.

<<Thank you Unnie.>> The younger one answered.

Silence was the only thing that there was between the two individuals.

<<What about you Unnie?>> Shuhua asked after few minutes.

<<What about me?>> Soojin asked confused.

<<Are you happy?>> The Taiwanese asked.

Soojin was really surprise at what the younger girl asked.

<<Yeah, why?>> Soojin answered.

<<Nothing, just wanted to make sure that...>> Shuhua suddenly stopped.

"Is it even right to bring the topic up after everything?" Shuhua thought to herself.

In the meantime, Soojin was trying to understand what Shuhua meant by that.

<<Nothing, just wanted to make sure that you're happy.>> Shuhua said before leaving the kitchen.

Soojin's POV

I can't stop thinking about that little conversation that I had with Shuhua. Was that really what she meant? To make sure that I was happy?
Even if it is. Why? Why would she even care about it?

"Because you're her step mom." Damn.
Even my subconscious is messing with me.

<<Excuse me? Am I even talking to someone?>> Eunseo suddenly talked while waving to me.

<<Sorry, you were saying?>> I said.

<<Oh my God Seo Soojin, you're so in the clouds lately.>> Eunseo said.

I sipped a little bit of my cocktail then scratched my nape.

<<Don't wanna say it, but you've been like that since the other Yeh came back.>> She said.

"Is she teasing me?"

I glared at her.

<<No Eunseo, is defined not like that.>> Eunseo said to herself clearly scared.

After few minutes my phone vibrated, it was my husband.

"Hey babe, I'm heading to Taipei right now. I wanted to tell you in person but you were not home. I'll call you and explain everything as soon as I land. Love you."
