~Mira's POV~

~Time Jump~

It's finally Halloween. I haven't spoken to Cedric at all since that night he explained why he asked for me to move out. I have been spending most of my time either with the boys, with Madame Pomfrey, or at the quidditch pitch. I've started doing early morning runs to help me collect my thoughts. I also have been having regular meetings with certain Hufflepuff first years who need help with lessons. I was sitting in the library with Randall Thomas helping him with his Charms lessons when I heard everyone running down the grand staircase. I looked at Randall and he seemed scared. I nodded and we packed up our things and followed everyone else until we saw Miss Norris petrified hanging by her tail. There was a sickening message in blood on the wall and before I could gather up all the Hufflepuffs, some professors ran down the hall and told everyone to go to their respective common rooms. I collected the Hufflepuffs and brought them to the common room. As I was about to leave I ran into Cedric.

"Mira..." Before he could say anything else I left the common room and took the secret passageway up to the 7th floor to the Gryffindor common room. I walk in and see the boys waiting for me. I smile at them and sit in Percy's lap while we all talk and enjoy each other's company.

~Next morning~

I woke up in Percy's arms the next morning. I put on my robes and everything before bolting down the stairs to the Great Hall. I get there just as the professors are there for breakfast. I smile at them and walk up to the professor's table and smile at Dumbledore.

"You wanted to speak to me this morning professor?"

"I did Miss Foxe. I wanted to see how you're doing and see if there is anything I can do to help you."

"I'm doing just fine professor. Thank you for checking on me." Dumbledore nodded and I walked away to go get breakfast. After finishing breakfast I checked on the Hufflepuffs to see how they were doing. I went through my classes today with no problems and I was sitting in the Gryffindor common room doing homework when an owl appeared at the window. I opened the window and the owl dropped a letter and flew away. I closed the window and opened the letter:

Mirabella Meadow Foxe,

First off let me say I am deeply sorry to hear about the lose of your aunt and uncle. I hope you are doing better now that you are back at Hogwarts. Second off I apologize greatly for how immature and inconsiderate my son was to you. I did not raise him that way and I understand why you refuse to talk to him at the moment. I am writing to you to give you something that rightfully belongs to you. I was looking through old photos and found this photo your mother sent me after you were born and I feel you need it right now. It is enclosed in the envelope. Again, I apologize for what you have had to go through and I hope you find comfort and peace soon. Enjoy the photo and if you have any questions about your mother do not  hesitate to write me and ask. I will answer any question you have.

Yours sincerely,

Amos Diggory

I smiled and looked in the envelope to find a photo of my mom holding me as a tiny baby. I started crying and clutching the picture with every ounce of strength I have in my body. I look back at it and see it's a moving picture of her kissing my head.

This is the best thing that could have possibly happened to me right now.
