New Couple

Rob's POV:

The bell rang. I winced. The loud sound was always extremely annoying and stressful. Soon enough, kids started walking into the classroom. Gumball, Darwin, Tobias, Tina, Carrie, Penny, and a whole bunch of other kids I didn't care to know the names of. I know Tina because she's a school bully (kind of, Darwin told me why she's a bully and it makes her kind of not a bully), I know Tobias because he's friends with Gumball and he won't stop teasing me about how my parents both work at the school, and I know Penny and Carrie because they're Gumball and Darwin's girlfriends. "Hey Rob" Gumball said, batting his eyes at me for some reason. He always did this, and said it was because we were "enemies", even though anyone with a brain (except Penny, somehow) knows he probably has a crush on me. It doesn't bother me. "Hey, Gumball" I said, my usual blank face and flat tone. He kept batting his eyes at me until Darwin poked him and he turned to whisper to him. "Alright class, today, we are going to-" miss Simian's sentence was cut off by Darwin loudly yelling "I HAVE A BIG PROBLEM". I think he's done that before. He had a weird addiction to potatoes. He still does. "As if we already didn't know that, Watterson. Both of you, to the Principal's office" miss Simian said, pointing at the door. "What did I do?" Gumball said. "I know you had something to do with it!" Miss Simian screeched. I winced. I hated loud noises. As Gumball was walking out, he made a phone with his hand and mouthed "call me" while looking at me. I have no idea how Penny doesn't know he's into me.

TIME SKIP

I was talking to Gumball and Darwin during break. Gumball was bragging about things he definitely didn't do while Darwin just started at him with a disapproving face. I listened. Well, not really, if he stopped now and asked me to repeat what he just said I couldn't, but I acted like I was. It was funny to me. "Rob!" I heard Steve call. I sighed and rolled my eye. I looked at him. He was standing in the doorway to the outside. He was smiling, as per usual. He motioned for me to come over. I walked over to him. "Yeah, Dad?" I said, trying to get the expected surprise hug over with. I loved Steve, he was a great dad, but these hugs get really annoying sometimes. He hugged me tightly and then handed me something. It was a crystal, but I think it was real. Most of Steve's crystals are plastic, but this one didn't look plastic. "What's this for?" I asked, looking at it. It was pretty. "Just for some positive vibes for your aura" Steve said, smiling at me. He hugged me again and sent me back to my friends. Gumball had stopped talking when I left and got out of his position of leaning on the fence with his head on his hand, but once he saw me he scrambled and went right back to it. He was trying to look cool. "What did Mr Small give you, Rob?" Gumball said, looking at my hand. "He said it was to add positive vibes to my aura or something like that" I said, showing him it. "It's the same color as your eye" Darwin said, looking over Gumball's shoulder. I looked closely at it. "Oh, it is, damn" I said. I hadn't realized that, somehow. "It's sparkly just like yours too" Gumball mumbled under his breath. "I heard that. My eye is not sparkly" I said. I think he was attempting to flirt. He wasn't very good at it. He looked at me and blushed red. Darwin looked at him smugly. "I don't know what you're talking about" Gumball said, crossing his arms and looking away. He twitched his ears. I just looked at him, doubtfully. Then Tobias strolled over, but he looked happier than usual. I assumed it was just because he saw what happened with Steve and was gonna tease me, but he doesn't look as happy as that. "Guess what, guys" he said, looking at us and smirking, looking oddly proud. "What, Masami is into you and you know because she hit you a bit less hard than usual" Gumball said, giggling. "Nope! I have a boyfriend" Tobias said, leaning up against the fence and putting his hands behind his head. "What the what?!?!?" Gumball and Darwin both said in unison. I just stared at Tobias, surprised. I didn't think that kid would actually get a partner, like, ever, especially not a dude. "Who is it?" Gumball said, anxiously. "Ocho" Tobias said, still looking proud. "OCHO?!?!" Darwin and Gumball said, louder than previously. I glared at them. Gumball looked at me with a quick apologetic look. Darwin didn't see. "I call BS. Call him over right now and have him confirm" Gumball said, crossing his arms. "If you insist" Tobias said, shrugging. "Ocho!" He called. Soon enough, Ocho "walked" over (I don't think it's really walking, he kind of floats) and just stood next to Tobias. "What" he said, blankly. "They don't believe you're my boyfriend" Tobias said, side eyeing us. "Oh. Yeah, we're dating now" Ocho said, not wavering his tone at all like he was joking. Darwin and Gumball's jaws dropped. Literally. "Prove it" Darwin said. Somehow they still didn't believe it was true. Then Ocho kissed Tobias on the cheek. Darwin and Gumball's jaws dropped more, more than what was physically possible. It was kinda scary. "Told you I wasn't lying" Tobias said, waking off with Ocho. Then the bell rang again. Goddamnit I hate that bell.
