TW: blood

"Come on, Larry! We're going to be late!" Steve called from the doorway to the apartment. "Hold on, give me a second!" Larry called from the bathroom. He had recently bought a small amount of makeup for covering any marks he got from Steve, and he was trying to cover up the worst of it. He had no idea what he was doing, though. He just put as much as he could on and then put his clothes on. He didn't really have a uniform to wear, so he just wore his regular clothes. He sprinted out of the bathroom and towards the door. Steve waited for him to leave before closing and locking the door. "You really don't know what you're doing with makeup, do you?" Steve said, giggling and looking at the splotched makeup on Larry's neck. "Is it really that bad?" Larry said, pulling his T shirt up. "It's fine. I'm sure the kids won't even notice or care. It's not their business anyway" Steve said, taking Larry's hand before they got into the van. "Yeah, what about other adults?" Larry asked, starting to get worried. "It would be pretty rude for them to say anything, Larry" Steve said, smiling and glancing at Larry for a moment. "You sure they won't say anything?" Larry asked, trying to put a jacket on to cover his splotchy makeup. "Positive" Steve said, smiling. "Alright" Larry said, relaxing a bit. He trusted Steve, but was still a bit nervous. Admittedly, his boyfriend wasn't always the brightest, but he was still trustworthy for most things.

TIME SKIP TO A FEW HOURS AFTER THE SCHOOL DAY

Larry was laying on the couch scrolling ElmorePlus while Steve was cooking, but then he heard hard knocking at the door. "I'll get it" Larry said, getting up and putting his phone down. He opened the door and was immediately punched in the face. Hard. He stumbled back and then opened his eyes to see who it was. It was Karen. Steve had already rushed over, because he saw Larry fall backwards. "What the fuck is WRONG with you?!" Larry yelled, holding his hand over his mouth. He had started bleeding. "How do you even know where I live?!" Larry continued. At this point, Steve had already run to get a phone to call the police. Karen noticed this and pushed Larry down and ran to Steve. Larry tried to trip Karen, but was only to make her stumble. Steve was able to have enough time to grab Larry's phone off the couch and lock himself in the bathroom. He was already talking to an operator. He felt guilty about leaving Larry out there, but he was trying to do his best to at least get some police officers over. Karen was trying to break open the door. Then she heard sirens. She tried to run out of the house but Larry grabbed her legs and kept her down until the police came in. Steve came out of the bathroom and picked up Larry while Karen was being handcuffed and taken downstairs. "Are you ok? What happened?" Steve said, holding up Larry's head and looking around it. "Just my mouth is bleeding, I think that's all, though" Larry said. The police had already left, so it was just them. "Are you sure? You were pushed on your back, right?" Steve said, reaching to get paper towels for Larry's mouth. "I'm fine, Steve. I just need to wash out my mouth" Larry said, holding the paper towel to his mouth while he walked to the bathroom. "Larry, you got pushed onto the ground after being punched in the mouth. You're not going to be 'fine' after that" Steve said, leaning on the doorway of the bathroom. "God, Larry, please just let me help" Steve said, looking at Larry struggle to wash his mouth. "Fine" Larry said, reluctantly. Steve took a small cup and filled it with water and gave it to Larry to drink. "Try to not taste the blood" Steve said, taking paper towels and bunching them up. "Keep this in your mouth where your bleeding" He said, handing Larry the small bunch of paper. "Come on, I'll find something you can have to remove the taste from your mouth" Steve said, taking Larry's hand and walking him to the kitchen. "Come on, Steve, I look stupid like this" Larry said, feeling the bulge in his cheek from the paper. "Well, nobody else is here, so it doesn't matter" Steve said, grabbing candy out of the cabinets. He took out lollipops and handed one to Larry, taking one for himself. "I'm taking this paper out of my mouth" Larry said, starting to unwrap the lollipop. "If you want blood flavored lollipop, be my guest" Steve said, already having the lollipop in his mouth while he started to continue the cooking that was left unfinished. Larry sighed and left the paper towels in his mouth while he put the lollipop in the other side. He waited at the counter. There were barstools at it now. He watched Steve cook. He always looked calm when cooking. Larry smiled. "Here, Sunshine" Steve said, putting a plate in front of Larry. "You can take the paper towels out of your mouth now. The bleeding should have stopped" Larry didn't hesitate. He pulled the blood-soaked paper out of his mouth and put it in the trash. His mouth was still sore, so he had to slowly eat his food. "Well, that was pretty traumatic" Steve randomly said while eating. "Yeah" Larry replied. "I don't think I'm hungry anymore" Larry said, pushing the food away. "Are you sure? You barely ate anything" Steve said, looking concerned. "Yeah, I'm gonna go lie down on the couch" Larry said, getting up. Steve frowned, but let him go. After a bit, he finished his food and took the plates to put them in the sink. He then walked to Larry, who was laying on the couch, covering his face. Steve took him into his arms. "It's ok" Steve said, looking at Larry. "You'll be ok, Hon, you'll be ok" Steve said holding Larry tightly.
