Third Person's P.O.V :-

CRASH!

Jungkook's eyes widened as he heard the loud noise of something crashing from downstairs.

"W-who?" Jungkook panicked and looked around in paranoia, trying to find any object to use as his weapon.

After arriving in Jimin's house, he had always been given such safe environment to live in that he never quite faced this kind of occurrence.

It reminded him of the times when his father would come home and throw the bottle of alcohol on the wall, making the glass break and scatter everywhere.

Then that pathetic excuse of a father would resort to beating him for not earning enough money.

Jungkook could feel himself having breathing problems as the past once again washed over his mind, it made him feel scared and insecure as the vivid nightmare was still fresh in his head.

Why was this happening to him? What did he do to deserve all that?

He was in this unknown place, miles away from his home, surrounded by strangers and neither Jimin nor Taehyung was with him.

Tears were brimming in his eyes and he tried to put on a brave face and shakily picked up a foldable chair from the side of the room.

Jungkook was sleeping on the first floor, there were no escape routes, so he needed to knock the intruder out, run out and look for Jimin or Taehyung before the intruder could come upstairs.

One step out of his room, he felt his heart drop down to his stomach as he heard busy footsteps coming from downstairs.

He gripped the foldable chair more tightly as he tried to conjure up all the courage into telling himself that he'd be fine but the shaking didn't stop.

With each step down, the footsteps became louder, making it evident to Jungkook that there was indeed a presence downstairs and it wasn't his hallucination.

Reaching down the stairs, Jungkook felt his lips quivering as he harshly bit down on it to stop himself from sobbing, a few drops of tears slipped past his clenched eyes.

If he slid open the door in front of him, he'd directly come face to face with the intruder.

Jungkook felt newfound dread creeping inside of him as he came in terms with that realization.

No...

It wasn't the time to feel scared and paranoid, he needed to get out of there before things got worse.

Therefore, he needed to be quick.

He just needed to slide open the door, throw the foldable chair on the intruder and run for the exit.

That's all he needed to do.

Pretty simple tasks.

So then why?

Why were tears falling down from his eyes without stopping? Why was he hesitating to open the door? Why was his hand shaking?

He was a coward...

After all those therapy sessions...

All that money Jimin spent to get him back to functioning again like a human being...

All those weekly checkups...

All of them...

A waste.

Jeon Jungkook was still a coward, shaking in fear after sensing the slightest of danger.

In that moment, he was biting his lips so harshly that it felt like the skin might burst and blood would come out any moment.
