"Clary ?" He still couldn't believe his eyes. "What are you doing here?"

"I need to speak to your parents." She replied. As she said this Alec led her through Institute, meeting his mother halfway.

"Maryse" Redhead called cheerfully, the woman, however, looked at her little confused, as to why she addressed her by her first name. "Hello, I'm here by the Clave's orders, I'm taking temporary control of this Institute."

By this sentence, Alec's mother and sister came down the stairs to have a proper conversation, not shouting through the whole Institute. Alec's mother said: "Wait. Nobody informed us."

To say that they were angry was the right thing to assume and Clary's new found ego as soon as she found out about her family they gave her automatically one of the highest positions, which wasn't a good combination.

"The Clave doesn't need to, besides, as I said it's only temporary." She remarked and still hasn't stopped smiling at Lightwoods, much to their annoyance. "Now where's my sister ?"

"She's training," Alec answered the question dryly. Wishing nothing but for the brunette to be safe and away from Institute as far as possible.

"If she's training, why not here, why she's roaming through the streets of New York and she wasn't Valentine's daughter ?" She was taking steps closer to Alec anger practically burning from her.

"Didn't you called her 'sister' a few days ago ?" Izzy spoke crossing her arms, eyeing the redhead. It hurt her, to remember the moments they spent together, remembering how Ashley always looked out for Clary and this was the thanks she got in return.

"That was before we were under these circumstances."

This only made her feel sadder and angrier, absolutely ready to tell her what she thinks of her. But before she got any chance Alec talked again, "She's with Jace."

"Like that's any better." She scoffed. "I've read reports, I know a lot about Jace and not necessarily good things."

"I don't know what you read but he's our best soldier." Maryse stepped into the conversation again, too tired of listening to this. Not only the redhead was taking control after being in Shadow world for not longer than weeks, but nobody is offending her kids in front of her. "If she's with him, she's gonna be more than okay."

"Been there done that. Not very convincing."

In Simon's mother's office

Ashley was sitting on the orange couch, not really sure what she's gonna say when Mrs. Lewis comes.

"Tell me you are not actually gonna tell her he was bitten by a vampire." He said as he was looking through every little thing in the office.

"No, I'm not that stupid, thanks for thinking so highly of me." The girl rolled her eyes at him. She went through every possible scenario in her head, what to say or do, but still ended up nowhere.

"I'll just tell her there was an accident and," she couldn't bring herself to say anything after that, but she knew she had to. So after a few seconds pause, "Simon is not gonna make it home, ehm, ever."

Footsteps were heard approaching so they immediately stopped their conversation. Inside the office appeared Mrs. Lewis with two drinks in her hands, Ashley felt even worse right away.

"I haven't heard anything from Simon since yesterday," She began, handing the brunette drink. "And she just flipped out before, and then just disappeared. Please do you know anything about him ?"
