Vindicate me, O God, and defend my cause against an ungodly people, from the deceitful and unjust man deliver me!
Psalm 43:1 ESVVindicate means "clear (someone) of blame or suspicion." in Google. We could easily tell that the psalmist is struggling with his sins and He needs God to defend his cause against the devil. It's nice to know that the psalmist know that he needs God and on his own, he could not save himself. That's the first way, you have to realize that you need God's help. You need Someone who is bigger, greater and better than those voices inside your head.
For you are the God in whom I take refuge; why have you rejected me? Why do I go about mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
Psalm 43:2 ESVThe psalmist was finding God because his sins were haunting him. The voices of the devil was lingering on his ears and he just felt that because of the oppression, the pain, the hardship his God rejected him. I sometimes struggling with this too. Because of my sins, I cried and blamed myself. I let myself to be oppressed. I let myself to be broken. And all I could thought was "Why God? Why have you rejected me?"
Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling!
Psalm 43:3 ESVBut in here, the psalmist found a way. He asked God to send out His light and truth (Bible) and let His word set him free. He knows only His word can make Him free. Only Him, can make him free. That's why he said that let the word of God bring him out of this sin and let him run to God. But before he needed the word, he said "Send out your light and your truth." He simply tell us that the only way is to pray and to let Hid word lead the way.
Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy, and I will praise you with the lyre, O God, my God.
Psalm 43:4 ESVAnd when you found in His word that you're forgiven, you're loved, you're welcomed. You're gonna praise God. His truth will make you free. There will be rejoicing. You just have to pray, ask, read the word and rejoice because He found you, and know that He will never leave you.
Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.
Psalm 43:5 ESVOften times, we feel guilty, ashamed and discouraged. I know that feeling. I've been there too and I keep on coming back to be honest. But you have to do what the psalmist did, you have to talk to yourself. You have to acknowledge yourself. You have to preach to yourself. There are times that it feels like the devil is winning, but always remember that he already lose. He could not win over you for you are Christ's. Now, pray, ask Him, read the word and rejoice. There is hope because there is God. He is your salvation and He deserves your praise.
He loves you. Get out of that grave. He already made you a victor. Remember that.
